A new film reviving the cult 1990s TV series The X-Files is moving closer to being made, according to reports.
David Duchovny, one of the show's stars, has told reporters he will receive a script next week.
Duchovny and co-star Gillian Anderson are both "on board" to reprise their roles as alien-hunting special agents Mulder and Scully, he said.
The script has been written by creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The pair co-wrote the first X-Files movie, which came out almost a decade ago. The original thriller series was a hit when it ran from 1993-2002, winning three Golden Globes for best TV drama.
Duchovny was speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, promoting his new comedy Californication, in which he plays a novelist struggling with a complicated private life.

we're upto season 5 now. I'm just watching Emily die, and one of the alltime best episodes is tomorrow:
Season 5, Episode 8: Kitsunegari
Original Air Date: 4 January 1998
Robert Modell (Pusher) escapes from prison. Mulder and Scully find themselves in another game of "cat and mouse" with a killer who can manipulate the minds of his victims. Mulder questions whether Modell is the one playing the game this time around.
mintness :D |

Total failure! Krysta is nothing compared to...
No, this will not suck. I will destroy everything and everyone with this. :D (in a good, non-violent way)
Well, that's the plan anyway. :wtf: |

Wicked! Thanks man, you just made my day :D
We're currently re-watching them on DVD as well. Up to season 3 and just watched '731' last night (the one where Mulder jumps from the bridge onto the train car, and gets locked in with the bomb and the NSA guy). |

nice. I still have every vhs cassette they released of it here, they did them in 'file numbers' as it went on. plus the movie which i stole from my brothers annoying mate :p
We're lucky enough for living tv in the uk to be showing it, at 7 and 8pm (the 8pm is on the +1) and again at midnight/1am on the same, apart from the odd night where it doesn't repeat. Only problem is they missed one ep i like out, leonard betts where a guy gets killed or something then 'survives', ambulance type guy i think and deformed.
As for the new movie, it'll be interesting to see how they use characters, especially since we lost the lone gunmen :( or if they set it before the end of the series. I have my faith in carter as a writer and producer though and with david & gillian both confirming involvement, it won't just be a tacky knock-off (as much as doggett & reyes had their place, they're not the true ppl on it)
anyway. sleepsies ;p |
