Hah so yesterday I had 50 bucks and was like sweet, I'll buy 8 shares, and i had like 2 bucks left over. Later that day it occurred to me, it costs money to trade, and if I wanted to sell, I couldn't because i Didn't have the cash in the account to pay the trading fee :p |
:stongue: Right now I'm pretty down on my portfolio (moving in the right direction though). Plus getting about $2000 a year just in dividends.
In general with stocks if you want to make real money, hold hold hold hold hold. Plough the dividends right back in (avoids tax). Hell of a simplistic way to put it. But playing long term and diversification are key.
Day trading and the like is risky as hell. Is possible to make money but to negate commission you need big swings or big cash either way it is high risk. |
