I met a friend for lunch at a little locally-owned korean restaurant today, and in the park across the street there was a huge film crew with a bunch of trucks setting up, and as we left the restaurant we saw Ben Affleck going into a trailer! Apparently they're filming a movie in DC this weekend. Kinda cool.

you should go up to him and tell him that you heard that russell crowe was filming a movie, and ask if he's seen any of the filming yet. |

I just got done with a job interview that went much better than I expected it would.
Second interview next week, and I hope it goes well. Not exactly the career path I envisioned for myself (insurance industry), but I liked the people I interviewed with today (it was a 2 hour interview), and that I wasn't going to be expected to do the door to door/cold call insurance sales thing.
So far though, everything is coming up Milhouse. |

lol of the day, people who use the 'i have more money than you' argument as a reason to proclaim themselves better people. |
It can be a bit of a culture shock sometimes to what we're used too, mostly because in UK/Colonial countries it's considered poor form and to some degree a lack of graces to brag. |

Just checking out all of my options - and the market for teachers right now isn't so hot (at least not any place I want to live).
Beyond that, this just has a solid benefits package and a salary that would take me 15 to 20 years in teaching to get.
So yeah, basically I'm saying I'm willing to sell out as long as the price is right and the work is enjoyable. :p |

| Ah it's not selling out at all, a certain degree of being pragmatic in your skill set never hurts if it means that you'll achieve what you want in life. |

Haha, my friend yelled out "Hey Ben! Where's Casey? We want Casey!"
But I don't think he heard it. :( |

I try to avoid gross generalisations because it offends people to be lumped in with them, but you'll find a lot more people in the US who measure their worth and social standing by their apparent income.
Note I use the word 'apparent' :D
There are some genuinely wealthy people there, then sadly, there's all these low and middle class on their heels mimicking their decadence and getting themselves into immense amounts of debt just trying to impress their peers. To some degree, its in other countries too, just on the US it's set on fast-forward and prominent...
Still, it's a salespersons paradise :p
ps: download my set! You know you like that dirty techno! :whip: |

Everywhere has a credit crunch problem, its not just the states. I'm thinking in a rather predatory manner that if one where to invest in a repossession agency, you'd never be short of business for about, oh the next 2 million years...

But its NZ Ian.
You go there, you look at it, go ahhh its so pretty, ski, get drunk, make an ass of yourself and go home somewhere sensible.
You don't want to live there... besides it's too damn cold! |
