(i guess its obvious that 2yr mark is 24months, but i was one of those Army guys who got my 2 year mark at my 18 month time in grade promotion[as a civilian coming into the Army i had to go through basic training and OCS which were both enlisted time, hence the extra 6 months])
that was so sweet when that happend to me... i didnt get any pictures b/c i was promoted to 1LT in a dining facility in Iraq...
b/c we are boys.. we do silly things like that... |
yeah , in the AF you're promotion to 1LT is at your two year mark (give or take a few weeks). my OPR closes out on June 3; but my two year mark was May 6...but my active duty date was May 30...so they take May 30th as the promo date.
so my paycheck on June 1 will include the two year pay raise...and then on June 15th will include the 1LT pay increase.
my old boss and NCOIC frocked me this morning. i have bruises on my coller bones...and i don't bruise very easy. lol, the boss (a Major - who, i ended up giving HIS promotion ceremony back in November) threw the little pin-stoppers over his shoulder and just put the rank on my uniform and was like, "are you wearing bandaids?" and i'm like, "WTF NO WHAT'S HAPEPNING!?!?!?!" and then him and NCOIC punched the out of me. lol (he had a seperate pair of pin-stoppers that he put on, that i didn't see him do it,,,,so i was expecting the pin to go into my skin, lol, instead, the stoppers ing bruised it).
was nice. |

So I totally thought I had just ed myself by missing a credit card payment by a day (I had written the wrong day in my planner), and I've really worked hard to not up credit cards so I was a bit worried to say the least.
Called Chase this morning because I wanted to see if even though I was making the payment late, if they would drop the late fee/not with my credit.
Turns out when I didn't make the payment by midnight, my account has a feature where twice a year Chase will make the minimum payment and payment on interest for me. Sucks that I used it without even knowing it, but at least I've got no fees, and I wound up having an extra $100 that I hadn't even budgeted for paid off this month.
This might be the first credit story I have with a bank that went surprisingly well. :wtf: |

ha.. nice.. yeah my 1LT promotion i got slugged by a few friends and my boss as the whole battalion of officers walked by to shake my hand... the pins in the back of the rank on mine dug into my collar bone (heh, the same one i broke 3 months earlier in kuwait) and i bled a little... it hurts.. you bruise.. but the $700 extra in my pocket made it hurt less...
congrats on losing your butter bar status... it really does feel good to get rid of the 2LT feel... but even better when you pin CPT... its like the parting of the red sea when you walk around with CPT bars on, people really do make happen for you when you say CPT in front of your name... |

I hate it because it has become a crutch of society in the US. If the way credit was used, was strictly for large purchases such as a home, a car, major medical bills, or something that isa necessity only. Not for buying a damn purse or shoes, or daily . If you can't afford it, don't ing buy it.

nice. my old boss (teh Major) had done a lot of Army support. so he's all huah (mainly just a wacky guy, but the army made him even moreso, me thinks). but he slipped me a coin later on when he shook my hand, which was really cool. definitely someone i look up to a lot.
i'm hoping being a 1LT now, i can get at least a *little* more credit/appreciation. as a 2LT, its like, "ok, there there, LT...its gonna be ok...here, have a crayon...we'll make the decisions for you"....and you're too naive/stupid/scared to really say anything about it, until its too late. (sort of, at least). |
