So I am riding my shiny, new, fancy looking bike from one end of the city, towards my class on the other end of the city. It's sunny and all seems well as I am really early, and making great time.
I'm going along my merry way, probably about 30 km/h, when I see a small little grass covered mound. Assuming it is an irregularity in the grass, I proceed at full speed.
I fly over my handle bars, land face first into the ground, and smash my lower abdomen seriously hard into the top part of my bike.
DAMAGE - To the bike:
-massive massive scratching all over the front
-ed up gears
-broken spoke on wheel
-bent gear and brake attachment
-cracked my helmet (the actual foam part), broke some of the plastic casing, scratched that up
DAMAGE - To me:
-Bruised face
-Bruised abdomen
-Serious shock
No blood. Nothing really obvious to show I fell...
Seems the bike and helmet took way more of the hit than I did.
I am soooo pissed off. I looked to see what I hit. It was one of those concrete curb thingys to designate imaginary parking spots. It was so grown over I thought it was part of the ground.
Now I am a half hour late for my class :(
Today is proving to suck. |
