Some cops give all the other ones such a bad name.
I was just driving back from getting food right now, and driving a bit quickly, & waited 'til the last second to stop at a stop sign, but made a complete stop, then started to make my turn. As I start to turn, I notice a cop car to my left, and he honks at me, & starts to make a u-turn to follow me, so I pull over. He pulls up alongside me, so I relax, and he says
"You didn't do too good a job of stopping back there."
So I reply, "Well, I'm sorry. Yes, I could've made a better one."
"Well, I think you would've just gone through if you hadn't seen me."
I was literally confused, so I just said, "No, I don't do that."
"Well, I can just give you a ticket right now, if you want."
Luckily, I was smart enough to just shut up & apologize again, & get him to leave, but seriously--what was he going to write on the ticket? "Made less-than-smooth stop?" He just wanted to see if I was going to be dumb enough to mouth off to him, and certainly gave me all the reason most people would need to do so. in A. I'm just glad I didn't fall for it. |
