haha. I've been to about a handful of NHL games, but the crowds don't even care about the game. Hockey's actually a great game, imo, but the fights ruin it, and those take over the whole game in the NHL. |
See, I can have an appreciation for any sport, even ping pong, but hockey is wayyy to over dramatic about the fights and making sure you have at least one guy who gets his teeth knocked out. Gay

all the fighting are in the stands |
that's the point. Nobody cares about the game. They just wanna see people bleed. It makes the game slow, lowers the level of play, and makes it uninviting for anybody who wants to see people skate, pass, & shoot.
I love olympic hockey, because the bigger rink, stoppage limits, & stakes make for faster skating, more action, & almost no fights, and the game, itself, is a lot of fun to watch. |

| if Bud Selig was the commissioner of the NHL, he would shorten the width and length of the rink, create longer penalty times, and allow 5 on 1 plays in order to "speed up the game" and "increase scoring". |

the NHL actually got better with that pace. the neutral zone infraction has been mitigated to an extent. clutching and grabbing is out. there is still work to be done, but it's been better since the neutral zone snoozer era from 1995-2004
downsides:
scoring is still low since teams trap in different ways. way too many power plays. (the price paid for enforcing ticky tack penalties)
edit: as for those types of games, everyone really cares about the results. no one wants to lose to a bitter division rival |

sadly, he's a better commissioner than Gary Bettman |

its not ruining a good sport if its been a part of it since it started.
if anything the blood and injuries have gone down with equipment being so...face covery.... |

He barely held himself back from bases, but those nets will be way too tempting for him to turn down a Spiderman tie-in.
btw, you forgot to mention that the league with the most penalty minutes will play all their finals games at home. |

despite the fact that you're wrong, the game would still be better without goon squads, so it's irrelevant either way. |

fighting has always been a part of the game
i believe it's gone down in recent years |
