Good Luck. I had mine about 3 years ago. As soon as you get your first few tracks out of the way, you'll be jumping around the DJ Booth. |

Prolly...even though there's probably only going to be a few people there at that time... oh well! Doesn't stop me from jumping around the bedroom! haha. |

:D When i played my first gig, there was about 20 people there at a local students union. When i left a year later, there was around 150. Good things come to those who wait.
What type of set you got planned? |

Mostly some (so-called) electro-house type stuff... probably would be best for this type of crowd. It's mainly a hip-hop/top-40 club, so I'm trying to give them some dirty/gritty basslines to get their attention. Probably get a little proggy too. Trance is probably not a good idea for this one. |

It was raining cats and dogs here last night in Dundee. Yes yes i know Scotland and Rain go hand in hand, but there was also fork lightning which is a rarity in this part of world, and a lot of it.
I'm just glad i paid the rent this month :) |

Definetly not epic trance, especially for that type of club. Some gentle house into some electo. I like that. Should go down quite well.

That's what I'm hopin' for! :)
I'll be mixing on Traktor + midi controller. Mainly because I just got CDJs and I don't have all my tracks burned onto CDs yet, lol.
Plus Traktor's looping functions work much better than my ol' CDJ-700s. |

dirty/gritty basslines might sound consistent, but it wont work for a hip hop/top 40 crowd, they'd like would be anything 'recognizable' my word of advice is mash ups. play alot of those and/or remakes/remixes of familiar tunes, of course uncheesed versions. :p |

Good point that. Maybe some housey mashups of some hip-hop/R&B tracks. |
