lol at the picture
I've just imagined the craziest track ever in my mind, while I took a bath. Too bad in 30 minutes I won't remember anything from it, and even if I had permanent memory I wouldn't ever be able to produce it and turn it into actual music.
The original version would start heavily focused on the bassline.. some sort of very banging dutch trance bassline, but slowed down. Just bass and percs and slight hints of the synths that would come later.. basically there's a breakdown, and a nice melody comes up, played by mega-nintendo-like synths all distorted and even glitchy. Think Xpander on steroids. Breakdown ends with the re-introduction of the bassline just like before.. and the track keeps rolling for a while based on the bassline. The mega-synths would only be re-introduced later when the track is already dying, and would have their biggest climax at the end, an already beatless part. Overall a really ed up structure for a trance track, to ensure dj's like Armin would never touch it. :p
Remix (or "part 2") even weirder.. instead of focusing on the bassline, the first part of the track focuses in the distorted synths over percussion, making a banging, highly repetitive loop out of it. Breakdown is much less dramatic here, and it introduces a chilled mood as deep house elements come in gradually... rest of the track is all chilled chords, organic bassline and even a very slight saxophone touch (hate over-the-top sax, little hint of it is good) - all with the distorted synths still playing but a bit forgotten into the background now.
I guess it's weird I took the time to write all this ... I'm just pissed I can't connect my mind into the computer and generate an .mp3 file out of my thoughts. :p |
