Ah, ok.
Well, it's not like you'll be going there forever. Just a couple of years or something, right? |
i dunno...could be 2 years, could be 4. i was told i'd be in shreveport for 3-4 years...i'm leaving after 2.5...

last time i checked shreveport was a hole town in the middle of nowhere:p |
everyone always disses on shreveport; but its a great city. population of ~250,000. casinos that are 24/7, bars that are open until 6am, comedy clubs, "nightclubs" (hell, we had Matt Darey...that's something...right?), plenty of out doorsey stuff to do (biking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, hell you can chop your own xmas tree down if you want)...sure its hotter than balls here in the summer time, but it's a great place to live imo.

Which must make this new place REALLY bad. |
exactly. Enid, OK has a population of 48,000. and it's NOT a college town.........
i dunno, it's all about what you make of a place. i'm just upset that my social circle is getting smaller; and my peer group won't be around anymore.
i was so happy to move from ames, ia to shreveport, la because it was something new and exciting and a place i had never been too...plus shreveport is way bigger than ames was.
now i feel like i'm going BACK to something like Iowa....just a little further south...and no college. ugh.
whatev - it's a new job and a new place. just will take some time to get used to. |
