I don't blame Moby.
He's made his contribution to electronic music through early tracks like Go, and later through popular albums that brought many people into the scene. Nowadays, he's like 30-something or 40 years old. He's got a huge name that he can commercialize, but he has ran out of crazy old accapellas to sample, and producing takes tons of time anyway. What's the best way to sell the Moby brand then? Dj'ing. Then again, researching the whole EDM scene for cool things takes tons of time, and the people that like Moby nowadays wouldn't want to listen to it anyway. The solution is easy: play accessible, friendly electrohouse.
I bet that at the end of that gig, he picked some hot 18 year old chick with glasses, and banged her in the back of his nerdmobile. Better than staying at home in his basement producing tunes and "keeping it real". |
