Start small, don't lather the whole lot in wax and try and take it all off in one go (nnnng... ow, *gritting teeth*) and as odd as it sounds, relax as much as you can otherwise the skin tightens up and around hair follicles making them harder to get out. Cold-strips are useless, hot is the only way to go and if you've got sensitive skin which comes up with red bumps with synthetic waxes, switch to an organic brand.
Use a lot of wax, it has to go down to the hair follicle otherwise it'll just snap it off and leave the roots in, then put the bandage over the top quickly and rip it off immediately in the direction the hair grows, (same way with your legs- away from your torso and at 40-45degree angle)
Also, if your hair is very long, trim it back to about an inch long or so, no shorter than that otherwise it doesn't have enough to stick to, too long and it's basically like ripping hair out of your scalp.
The only reason you'll get ingrown hairs after waxing is because you don't exfoliate the skin properly, get a good, non-alcohol based cleanser for that purpose and scrub away the dead skin.
And if you really can't take pain, get loaded on pills or booze... or both and just get someone else to do it. |
