meh, they're definitely more expensive, but they're not as bad as sprint/nextel, & I've had such terrible experience with cingular/at&t |

this is how it works. sprint is the most expensive. verizon has the BEST network but the WORST plans. cing/att have ok prices but HORRID service unless your on the 3g network. tmo has the BEST prices (natiowide. not including carriers like MetroPCS that they truely cant even compete with in regards to local service only) but their network isnt the greatst but isnt as ty reception wise as cing/att on the non 3g network.

would you like to buy a phone with underlying technology that is 3yrs old also? the ONLY thing that is "innovative" is the touchscreen which truely isnt. the UI is just a big gimmick. wooop dee ing doo you can shrink it with a finger motion. at least im not paying $600 for something already outdated by 3 years! |

pretty much what I've found, as well. The coverage with verizon is the best I've had/seen, but you pay for it, and the phone scenario sucks 'cuz of cdma. Cingular/att is just so bad, coverage & service wise, that it's even harder to justify going in that direction to save a couple bucks. tmobile has decent coverage, but in the places I need it, it's almost as bad as cingular. sprint/nextel just seems almost prohibitively expensive, and without much benefit. I wouldn't even consider any of the altell/us cellular/metropcs/boosts of the world. |

sprint/nextel retentions is . they wont do much to try to save you. also they have the worst deals. at work we get a BB8830 from verizon for 130 and free BT headset and car charger. to get an i850 upgrade from nextel its $200! |

I'll admit, the technology behind the on-screen keyboard is very cool--with the sensitivity working with the text-prediction, but I'd still rather have real keys, and there are a million other reasons why I wouldn't want that phone. |

nextel really isn't aimed at anyone anymore. they used to have a big chunk of the business market locked, especially when the push-to-talk phones came out, but they've got nothing to offer now except archaic phones & absurd pricing. They had the best network from day one, but they completely screwed up their marketing. |

metro is pretty good honestly. i had it for 1.5yrs till JUST before i moved to southern california. never had a problem. then again i had a SOLID phone. Kyocera (aka Qualcomm, the CDMA creator) makes the BEST CDMA chips out there. no other company makes such a solid communication chip when it comes to CDMA services.
and for those that dont know Nextel = CDMA + iDEN. iDEN = walkie talkie feature. and the reason that nextel ONLY uses motorola is cause iDEN is proprietary to motorola and nobody pays licensing fees except RIM (the company that makes the blackberry) |
