yep, that's what I mean. They had a vastly better product, but they didn't do what they needed to to appeal to the average consumer. In the mean time, the line between business & personal equipment/service blurred, & everybody else ate up their market. They never caught onto the idea that hardware mattered, and didn't pour the money into the infrastructure that they needed to. |

yep. its kinda unfortunate voicestream (aka Tmobile USA) kinda started out that way and is now playing catch up. really sucks but what can you do. at least they are making a very good effort and doing a damn good job relative to the capital that verizon has over Tmo. |

they still have some of the cooler phones, but the US government basically shot us all in the foot with restrictions, so we don't get any of them 'til a decade later, if at all. |

lol if a phone has even a sliver of a doubt that it wont get FCC approval they dont even bother. ALL phones must get FCC approval to be sold and used legally in the USA. the FCC sucks dick. |

add on the effect of the absurd contracts, & the limitations from carrier to carrier, & you have a market that does almost nothing to encourage hardware development.
well, that and the fact that americans don't care as much about phone technology. then again, if we actually had something to care about... |

+1
i think i just have a knack for knowing where to go / how to get places w/ out really needing directions. and it's not the whole macho, "oh, i'm a guy, i won't ask for directions". i just simply never need to. ever.
plus, i always carry an atlas w/ me in the car - and use google maps at home to plan things out where i'm going to go - and keep a mental image of the map.
probably the only thing i have a photographic memory about. *shrugs* |
