That is how you were raised, yes.
Designed? Things are not 'designed' to eat meat - they may find themselves developing a dependency on it, given certain regions exhibiting either scarcity or abundance of such a resource, but mere survival of humans in this day and age is most certainly not dependent on such an act. You may feel an innate craving for it that is further intensified by reckless consumerism as well as the commercialization of lifestyle choice and the subsequent shunning of those who do not feel compelled to eat, eat, ing eat, but it is a primarily prescribed response. Just because you crave cigarettes or feel as though your addictive habituation compells your survival instincts to consume them does not mean that you, as a human, were designed to smoke.
I'm not arguing that humans weren't at some point compelled to seek meat and proteins essential to brain development or that it is a necessarily wrong thing - like a mother's milk, meat is one of those catalysts for our bodies that has traditionally allowed accelerated growth and capacity for work. But need, given alternatives? We were designed for such a thing - designed for anything, whatsoever? Come now. |
I was talking in terms of our teeth :p |

Our teeth, then, are a result of our ways. Not the design. Not one for evolution, are ya? |

Aw, man, sucks to hear that. For how long had you guys been together?
(Is this sentence correct? Should I say "For how long were you guys together?" instead?) |
Not too long I guess - just over three months - but I had gotten attached and the timing sucked.
And yeah, I think that sentence works just fine.
So cheers to '08! |

hehe, I bought a 3-pack of cups cos i was down at glenelg with a mate and his gf (yeah i'm always the 3rd wheel) with the idea of one each, i had one (meh, ok but not worth the hype), his gf had one (meh, ok but nothing mindblowing), and my mate goes "nah, don't like peanut butter". But then we went back to his place and I left the 3rd in his fridge accidently, I wonder if it'll still be there when I go up there again or whether curiousity has gotten to him (or her). |
