Harmonic stuff, I like. Sine part is pretty cool too.
Percussion-wise it's really weak, dry and boring. I also would like to hear some background drones and ambient weird quirky sounds, just to keep it interesting.

So after some thinking and analyzing in depth this melodic development idea, I just release that I have to completely reconstruct/rebuild this track from ground up to the top.

So here we go some blend of Trance and Electro:

Electro-Trance TEASER (DariusX - IGNORANCE) by DariusX.

I really, really think this needs to be drier. The kick needs to be more powerful and the bass needs more space. It doesn't move forward for me.

Can you advise me if I need to vary up the main synth sounds and perhaps also the way the main riff is played at certain points?

I am hearing the potential for some kind of arps with delay on the high end. Hard to describe but that is what comes to my mind. As far as varying the main synth and riff, I personally would leave it just to keep it simpler since it sounds good already.

Normally I like your sound design and mixing lots but this one sounds off to me, especially after 45 seconds. The bass is the main problem I think. I don't find the underlying music all that exciting either.

Richard Butler, Deillon, Seandroid, Trancelover03591 - thank you guys for your time and effort, appreciate :D

Point is well taken guys - It is my fault to not communicate this properly lol as this was only dry melody layout to try to see if vocal would be able to work properly in this environment - I know that there is probably some technical issues with this WIP and they would be taking care of in the next stage of development but what is worrying me the most is the fact that (as Trancelover03591 mention in his comment) melody is not catching the attention the way I wish it would :D so I will have to rethink this idea one more time and see if I can make some necessary adjustment to make it sound right.

Thank you all one more time - your comment/s always counts guys :toothless

Cheers,

I hope I'm not breaking any rules, haha seeing as this is my first post here ...

Not sure what it is exactly about this mix. If I where to change
things myself I'd start with tightening the reverb and delay on the saw that comes in.
It seems too bright IMo. The track has this bouncy vibe that kinda clashes with the later parts.... I could be crazy but this is just IMHO.

I've actually been following you for a while on soundcloud. Hahaha
not much I would change, if anything. Some parts seem empty to me
but that's if I search really hard for a critique.

Nice vibe! Very chilled. not my normal cup of tea but i like it

I really like the kick, nice and punchy but unobtrusive and still kind of light. It sits nicely with the sine sub.

That vocal sample is really nice and leaves me wanting more - but then towards the end of the track you get more

I always try and give some constructive crit as i find that the most useful:

I think you could have some more fx and stuff in the background to fill out the space a bit more

I would like a little bit more variation in percussion. Could maybe layer up the percussion a bit more, add a ride, etc

I wouldn't mind a little bit more drive personally? like maybe some parallell comp on the drums

Cool vibe with the keys

really need to watch your sub imo, theres too much down there, at times, giving a muddy overall mix

Also sounds like your sub is in stereo? and doing some panning or phasing at some point
As a rule your sub should be in mono, and also normally be a pretty simple synth sound

But then there are other parts where the sub and kick sound quite tight, then it gets a little out of hand!

Also another general rule that works quite a lot, is keep most everything apart form the kick and sub out of the 200hz and below range, so high pass everything else

I really like the break with the keys, cool vibe!

good creative ideas in there imo just work on the delivery etc

Does sound a bit like lots of percussion loops stuck together at one point!

Cool tune

very nice beat

i think you could make the intro a bit more interesting bit more variation of synths (like you said)

im not sure about the "flute" riff in the middle 8 section (or whatever you want to call it)

For me there is a part where the bass riff moves too quickly, and it becomes undefined then, i think it should be simpler

the point at the end where the synths start to open up is really cool and quite emotive

I think you will totally nail this sound if you keep at it!

Hmm ive got a pretty good recording set up for vocals now, if you want to spend a day doing vocals at my place once you have it all worked out your welcome :)
