Good production on this, I does not sound overcompressed to me whatsoever. As said earlier a tad generic/dated sound selection. With a stronger theme it might stand out. All in all very nice.

heres a thing i came up with, sorry for not obeying the rules but I think I have some credits still from a year ago.. this is just for fun

Nice dark, gritty and lovely atmosphere. I would love some elements to have some more transient information to make it all a bit punchier. Other than I was hoping for a more rumbling low end and possibly a bit more separation between instruments.
Here's mine. I'm not comfortable with it yet for many reasons but I still like it :). It's about Silhouette (Storyteller Remix). Might just be my first release on my own little label to be.

Thanks again guys..
I can get away lowering the kick 1db but any more I feel I lose impact, same with the sub although I struggle like mad to hear what's going on down there. I have also made little volume changes to things like the reverse kicks and crashes along with the ride, just lowered them a tad so they don't stand out as much. I won't repost though, overall I feel it still sounds pretty much the same so no point really.
@storyteller
Good groove. I especially like the little crash stutter, nice touch. Maybe you could make the stabs standout a bit more and bring them forward? |

this could be really nice, a big crescendo in the breakdown and then just drop it back in again, nice warm production and doesnt get boring *thumbsup* |

Sounds really promising so far man and with addition of some crafty bass line it could be very danger work - btw where is your low end?

Right, here we go then. This is going to take absolutely stupid amount of work to get finished, especially because I'm experimenting with some things I've never used before. It'll probably end up being several different parts. |

| It does have potential, definitely. But that intro is too static and anonymous. You could put some big dark sub pad at the start + some stereo effects that evolve over time leading to a drop where the bass kicks in. It will make it more dramatic and will grab the listeners attention. |

| There will be definitely be a lot more going on in there eventually. I'm going to be finishing the structure of the track first and add the details last. |

I do hope you finish it. Would like to hear the result.
Btw, I'm curios. Did you make a narrow eq boost to the bass? |
|

| Yes, to that first layer. There are actually 3 different basslines, though you can only hear them all at the end. |

love the intro, love the bassline...was waiting for the drop and hoping for the right kick but i dont like it, dont like the attack of it
the sub bassline is quite heavy, i dont think it needs to be so heavy

| I quite like this Nik, particularly the atmospheric vibe you've built up with the intro so far. I can see there's still space left for development which I'm interested in hearing evolve. |

I see our sonical interests are going into a somewhat similar direction. I just listened to that Beacon track you had in Soundcloud and loved it. |
