Dood, Richard...quite a little changeup for you eh? Nice work on this one. In some ways I agree with Chris on this, it seems to be a bit unsure of direction. On the other hand, it seems to fit. I would be curious to see if some kind of white noise or atmosphere in between those transitions could bind it together better. Just my two cents.

This is adorable but it's really hard to follow haha. Maybe if I listened to it a bunch of times I'd get used to it, but I think it's missing a real... riff, you know? The others have already commented on sound design so I'll leave that be.

The lead that's about a minute in a feel sounds kind of cheap when the filter is open. I love the messy distorted kick. It has personality. The main drop is sick, but I don't know how I feel about the chords peeking in and out like they do. I dig the contrast between the break and the drop though. I don't think the track has an identity crisis as much as the 2 parts should remain separate.
At 4:10 I'd really advice not using the loop you did there because of this:
IDK if Chris Lake just used a loop or if you sampled the track but it's exactly the same, and that track is pretty popular. (And great.)
Otherwise, I dig it 😄

Really cool work there Sean, enjoy this sort of thing more and more now and I appreciate the skills involved. No crits.
Thanks for the feedback on mine - no I did not use any loops apart from one little hi hat that appears here n there. That Chris Lake track does sound similar though, not heard it before. I agree about those echoed chords popping up in the drop, I wasn't sure if they fitted really so will give it some thought.
I wasn't sure which lead you meant sounds cheap - presumably the first little lead that comes in during the intro? |

BTW, thanks to you and you other guys that gave me feedback on comments which I will be taking back into the studio for final tweaks on my latest. I think I will keep with it's slightly split personality but will review the bass end of things and other points mentioned. |

Sean...dood, diggin this man! I know this is supposed to be a "trance" forum but I say what the hell...Electronic is Electronic.
Kinda got that Glitch Mob thing going on...really like the groove.
At the beginning of the track it seems kinda lackluster but then fills in nicely with alot of intensity before the drop and then boom! It kinda builds you up and you want more intensity! Lots of potential with this one man...nice work! |

| Thanks guys! There are a few things I want to change but I'm happy with it so far! I think I'm going to switch to a more aggressive style for the 2nd half of the drop after what you hear in this preview. And I'm going to add some fills & stuff to break the repetition. |

| I like that Sean, if I were to nitpick, maybe the mids could be more saturated in the first part, but not distorted in any way. and the 2nd part im not getting any good bass response, I know its there its just the balance seems off. like some of the parts over the sub are being phased or sucked out at some parts (1:14). You might have to resample if you're synthesizing but I dunno I guess its fine, tough to call. |

Yeah, I have to mess with the lows I know. I don't have a sub so I have to screw with it a lot so my kick doesn't disappear. Headphones are awful for low end monitoring and my monitors work only to a point.
I threw a sub bass underneath the main bass sounds. That's why it's phasing. I have to high pass the synths. Thanks for pointing that out. |

Anyways, so this DnB called English Boys (lolli love - ditched that name) I posted here recently has now morphed into some sorta DnB meets Florida hip hop, mmm, dunno is it just too hard too follow / too weird?

Great job with this one. I dont usually like the big "bangers" where the crash just bangs on the background but this sounds like it has some energy.
Cant really say anything because listening with my ear buds.

Hmm. There is some cool glitching going on, but for composition vise its kinda hard to get a grip on it.

really liked it up until the 35 sec mark, not into the whole dubstep thing
if youd kept it in the same style as before the drop i think it would fit in well in a computer game intro or something |
