JP, my challenge with QB is that the beat doesn't lock into a groove with the leads
Skipping through the song, it's not locking the groove in my mind in 4 counts, neither in 8 or 16 and then i lose interest. Good production skills and leads though

I dig that. It's like one of those good demos on Youtube where a dude with more money than sense is showing off all his cool gear really well.

Oh wait..... :p

here are the two tracks, i know they are weird but any advice would be great and dont be afraid to suggest like +/- 0.5 db adjustments, looking at you raphie. I was just going to upload the 24 bit wav and let people download from soundcloud

Really not bad at all for a pair of busted headphones.

I'm missing a little bit of information in the mid/highs (perhaps around 8k).

I also think the very bottom end is perhaps a little bit undefined, although how you remedy that on your monitoring setup is anybodys guess.

These are just possible improvements. The mixes are generally well balanced overall.

thanks for the input, im surprised you can even tell anything with the soundcloud compression. It's supposed to stream as a 128kbps mp3 but even converted tracks in itunes sound 10 times better than on SC, i dont know why it eats up the audio so bad, either way thanks

My future: finding the ideal 16 or 32 steps :D
Regarding sense, P08 sold, tempest back, nord 4r on the way :D

Sounds wicked to me man.

It's the only reason this thread still survived, because people give feedback before they ask for it.

1. Post a track, comment on a track.
- That means that if you want to post a track you're working on, you first have to comment on a track.
2. Comment on the newest track posted
- Failure to do so will result in your track being ignored.
Repeat offenders will be kidnapped for Richies deprivement cellar.
3. Embedded players only.
- And no ing auto-play ffs.
4. DJRYAN™ is banned from this thread.
- User caught trying to sneak off his WIP's as their own, will be both prosecuted and persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
5. Don't keep posting the same track over and over again with minor slight changes.
- It's not what this thread is for. This is where you post ideas you're not sure you should finish, or tracks you need feedback if "the bass is pumping enough?" or "are the percs sizzling?". Update your original post with a second player if you've done alterations, but keep it to two players pr post, or else this page will turn into loading hell from 1995.

Norms to follow
Spectators are encouraged to comment as well, and if the newest track posted already has been commented on, you are free to pick whichever you like to comment on, if you're gonna post a WIP.
But has it been there longer than a week it's usually turned into a finished song by then, so keep comments to freshly posted songs.

Maybe it'll die out, but it's bound to be a better place to showcase your unpolished turds than the MP Promo subforum. You wouldn't hang an unfinished picture in a gallery, would you? Same goes here.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you made this track in garageband.

I think i know what you mean but despite it's simple and childish sounding (like super mario theme) has a lot of work behind it, more than a lot of my previous tracks with almost 30 automations ongoing.

In fact all commercial music sounds like this (and thats why i chose similar sounds) Calvin Harris - I need your love main riff sounds like a baby piano for example and it's a very big tune.

I think the main problem is that here on TA very few people listen to real mainstream music (which is acceptable i wouldn't if i didn't dj)

However i polished the bass and risers which was what made some sections awkward

You have noob ears, so you think your sounds like the pros. It sounds like you used really familiar presets, the track sounds very thin, and your writing is pretty basic.

The harris song is very full mix and instrumentation wise, and everything sounds processed. There's a ton of background instruments that come in and just keep the song moving along, it couldn't really survive just on the vocals alone.
