your better starting with most things monos anyway, easier to mix |
I've been recording like this since around 2008. I'm trying to save up for a mixer with direct outs, so I can use my multitrack unit. |

Hi guys, I am not trying to spam, but I haven't really posted much in here for a while. TA is great for a lot of things, but I feel giving feedback via a forum gets tedious. I don't have much good production advice to give the regulars on here, however, if you are one of the long term members who has both given and received feedback with me, I really do like getting DMs on soundcloud (or twitter or FB messenger). I know some people ignore DMs but I really do like receiving notifications! Anyhow, I have gotten to where I exchange feedback through these platforms with collab partners/producer friends almost daily and it works well for me.
Because I am also on other forums with a lot of beginners, I am also starting a new way for me to give a lot of feedback in a way that suits my workflow. Anyone can send a DM to a soundcloud I created for feedback, I will repost all the songs I get and give feedback directly on the waveform. That soundcloud can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/user-694744983
Again, for you guys that I have interacted with for years, you can always send me a message to my personal soundcloud and I will try to respond quickly and it can be a private link. It isn't a bother and it is easier for me through soundcloud than on here.
Thanks for putting up with my long post! |

Paul, all of the details on this are beautiful. I am listening through to each hihat, and they all sound so well placed. The kick is so round and full.
I always start thinking of what I could write in on a track, and I think this just needs a lead (or riff or another pad since this is more prog and usually doesn't have a melody per se). But I feel there is some space on top for some more melodic content of some kind to fill it out. But the foundation is there and clean and full. |

Really not my style of music, but perhaps someone into dubstep can answer you better. I think it needs some work, honestly.
happy with the first part, thinking if i should cut it midway.. |
Has that oldskool, 90's techno, recorded live in one take on analog, kind of feel. I like it overall, it isn't current but it is cool. |

I think it sounds awesome except the drum elements. Maybe some new samples on those? They just sound a bit cheap and dated to me. |

I hear you. I went for a more dj friendly, happy 90's vibe with this one, think I want to leave as is:

I agree with previous comments it sounds a bit dated. Particularly the drums. Feels like it is quite similar to Progressive House Worldwide stuff (label). |
