I know this forum isn't much into EDM but here is a track that DJ Veaux, Vin Harris & myself recently finished up:

Caleb, sounds cool man and nice colab with Colin :D - just to lift this quality to another level I would suggest to spend a bit more time on vocal deessering and EQ to remove some (sporadic) harshness out of it.
Just my $0.02

dialing in a bit more to the sound im after. |
Jesse lets start with this, I like this sounds evolution concept and how you progress your development, I think works well with all your sounds/instruments ;)
If you are open to same small adjustment then I would suggest to cut a tail from your first kick as this end of it taking away really nice and smooth listening experience (at least for me) -> but quality of this production and mixing work is really good at this point.
Cheers man,

As for track which use so many elements with reverb on it I should say that you did a good job (incl. kick and bass line).
Some sound choices and finishes on it (like proper EQ and FX) could be a bit more smoother or rounded as they are a bit harsh in some places but this is not may stile at all so I could be completely wrong on this -> please ignore if you disagree with me :D
Cheers,

Sorry I can't give any reasonable and productive featback because I didn't click with this track so far and the only comment I could make is that mixing and levels seems to be right :)
Btw, I think that Caleb is right about your kick, change it or make it a bit larger in your mix.

Anyway I actually finished a track, a lot of work since last posting but I'm happy enough. Vocals are kinda rough tho.
The trap vocal synth at 1.10 took me bloody hours. not sure if ok or not.
|
Not my stile completely but I didn't wont you to think that I'm ignoring you lol - so far I can tell you this: production wise and mixing seem to be on right level :D
Cheers brother,

thanks for checking that first work, I have finally done the rest of the work I needed to do on it, Darius I see what you say about the tail on the kick but so far no one has mentioned it really, it doesn't stand out too me that much, you mean like the subby tail? It is kinda of a longer kick but kinda why I like it. Anyway here's the rest of the work, stripped out that piano and tried to give the track some atmosphere and structure. also got those drums dialed in now, oooh yeah baby

| ^ sounding much better, although I too am wondering if the kick is a bit too loud. Also, when the percussion comes in at 1:03 it drowns out the chords a bit, they should either be louder or the percussion quieter. |

| I will try to see if the kick can be settled in there a bit better, I haven't messed with it that much but maybe it would sound better. and yeah the chords do get pushed back a bit, but I kind of have it to where in certain parts of the tracks it stands out more than others. |

Jessy what is this sound/noise which you could hear it from 0:47~ 1:02 the best - sounds like left over from the kick but I could be wrong.

I don't know what to add on this. Cool mysterious vibe that pulls you on. Cool plucks with a sweet verb. Very minimal yet quite provocative. The 1:50 mini-break feels a bit redundant as the track just goes on in its old format for a bar or so to end up in another break.
I like how you go back to the core after the bigger break. The 'breathing' (for lack of a more descriptive term in my vocabulary) sfx in there is cool.
Well done with such a minimal occupation. The only real thing I can comment on is that it doesn't keep my attention all the way through. Possibly some more alienating sounds (maybe introduce some dissonance in the plucks for instance) could complement the current minimal slightly uncomforting mood this track puts you in. Just a thought :). |
