I like it not a litte; definitely the best work I've ever heard from you - nice, deep and spacey. The only thing I could probably do without is the constant beat (hihat?) in the background. Everything else is perfect. If you can remove it without changing anything else, I'd love to hear it. I'd also consider adding some sci-fi movie/NASA samples, just to see how it would sound, but it's not at all necessary.
Should definitely get it released, or continue to make a full album. ;) |

i hope ive made some thing i might release! |
The percs are very lacking and do not create any sort of drive like a track of this type needs. It's particularily noticeable when the lead synth hits, because all you can hear is the lead and the beat. |

| I don't know if it's because you're going to implement vocals to this or what, but the whole mixdown sounds pretty odd. The percs are pushed in the back, and the whole midrange seems squashed somehow. |

Mate the sound I mentioned previously comes in around 4 minutes in - a square lead. It adds nothing IMO.
I like the drive and everything but for me it's too harsh in the uppers - but people are saying my DnB tracks lacks in that same department so I'm thinking most people like those powerful sizzling hi's whereas I do not as I find it a harsh listening experience.
I think I am in a minority as I find most commercial tracks sound way to fried egg for me in the hi's but clearly other people love this sound. |

not sure i hear any difference there. i would beef up the hihats, it sounds like its behind a curtain somehow. what monitors are you using? |
yeah still sounds a bit odd to me - like a serious "smiley curve" going on frequency wise |

Something I was working on, but I'm not really feeling it at all. |

I don't go in for this sort of music much now but this is lovely, it just totally flows and washed over me in a good way. It's the type of track I would stick on when on holiday in the sun and wanting inspiration to work out to.
The kick is slightly lost but don't change it much as you could loose the vibe maybe.
Personally some nice repeated vocal would go in here well after a minute or so - something like 'your love is like rain' - just something simple.
To break things up some I'd suggest a little snare / tom type riff lasting 1 second or less at the end of say each 31st bar when most of the rest of the track could drop out for a mo. |

The beat and song structure aren't really issues as they wouldn't be staying that way, I've only laid the ideas down in a linear fashion.
The main problem is I'm bored of the typical prog/trance song structure and I don't really know how to break away from it. |

It sounds a bit flat (perhaps due to lack of mastering?) but otherwise I very much liked the structure and track as a whole. Nice layering throughout. It sounds pleasant and memorable, and I'd consider finishing it - not something to just toss away.

I felt somewhat similar with the acid techno structure, and the only thing that remains is to either keep pushing the boundaries with different effects, sampling, and MIDI, or to switch to another genre altogether so you don't feel your creativity stagnating. In my case it was switching completely to piano, and I've only recently bought gear again to perhaps get back into it (I've never really learned MIDI before, so it would certainly take things to the next step).

Need your help, guys. I have two edits of the same track here (original and shorter re-edit) and I'm not sure which to keep, nor if I should keep/upload any of them to Soundcloud. It was a live take long ago, (perhaps a 30-minute track or so) and I've tried to make it into one short, complete work. Would like to know if it works, flows relatively smoothly, transitions, etc.
