hmm I think thats one of my favourites from you, sounding really nice. maybe st can chime in on your mix but sounds good to me. sounds nice and full, bass has nice air too, perhaps a little more midrange boost on the bass a little bit? not sure.
btw where did your son go, does he still make music? |

Yeah, couple of day ago I was able to quickly run your WIP and had to take off without leaving any comments but yes, there was something in
that sound which cause (in my opinion) a fatigue, something like to bright sound but I will need to listen it couple more time before give you more constructive opinion.
Cheers,

Appreciate Mac. Mike is currently finishing his MS program but, as he said himself, is ready to make some noise lol. He recently purchase some hardware and fancy new audio interface so I myself are waiting for him to shine again lol

Just to keep this thread active I will post my latest WIP concept - it is in a more developed stage but still need some tweaking and massaging. Lets see what you guys think?

Smoooth start. I was expecting future-ish stuff, but we go to the Darek vibes :). Plucks seem to be fighting for attention with the guitar. I would more clearly decide which takes the foreground. Synth keys coming in are nice. Arp too... It is a bit crowded now.
Lovely drum roll and vocal with strings.
I would opt for giving the individual instruments a bit more space. Putting them all together I find too much. Not fan of the plasticcy piano in the end but it fits the theme. Mixwise no comments. Smooth. |

Mostly expecting more from the rhythmic section here. Would love to hear it with some toms and other stuff. The hats are a bit harsh on the ears. Nice concept. |

Teaming up with Horse to make it a Horse & Knitter track instead of just Storyteller. He did the (real Fender) Rhodes and Prophet additions. Still struggling with the mix to make all elements shine. It feels a bit flat at some parts. Not yet sure what the issue is, will be adding & subtracting instruments at some point to see how to create more space.
Note to self: Need to louden the rhodes lead during 1m7s and 4m20s marks. |

I would compress the rhodes piano with a medium-longish attack, it's taking up a lot of space and groove. |

Smoot listening experience, nostalgic but dynamic enough to play on your emotions - well done. Some small issues (which you already notice) need to be look at but an overall effect is a clean and enjoyable work.
