Singing the groove, what? |

it sounds like a kick, and something else. A good bottom has a certain flow. That is what i mean by singing it. Yours would be like cowl music.
The kicfk and the bass are really 2 elements that weave into one. Right now, they don't |

Its not suppose to flow like you think because it doesn't have any rich lower harmonics because its a high note?
There's so many tracks like the one i made. If your right then I guess its all up my kickdrum then. |

| Sounding good Juan. The main thing that stands out to me as being off is the kick, it doesn't sound right with that bass. The bass definitely sounds right, but the kick is just a bit too airy/low end heavy I guess? Not sure exactly how to describe it. |

| Aye, yeah thats it. Are there any ways to determine how a kick fits with a bass. I usually use G or F as my sub bass and so on. This is my first time using A. I'll try to find a smoother kick that can compliment the A note bass. I see now groove is important. Thanks man, and this def not a pat on the back like some idiot before mentioned. :p |

cheers for the comments before, very useful.

well all the tracks I'm doing are vocal in that it is a artist group , not a producer. Jamiroquai meats daft punk. And yup , i will be singing. Basically just modern funk. i guess that qualifies as ddm.
All richie patches from scratch

You got something funky going on in this short WIP man, if you properly construct the rest and mix it appropriately the you may have a winner lol --> and I would never imagine myself saying that to you couple years ago :D --> this have some style ;)

Thank you darek.
Alright here it is. This is my first wip carving out my own path. No references what so ever. Thoughts on what genre it files under?

Quite interesting approach man, elegant and nicely drive bass line with good and vibrant drums supporting it ;)
As far as melody line, well it is always hard to judge as everyone of us has some different elements/preferences which we are looking for in it - but I like what I heard so far.
You are getting closer and closer my friend :D
