This has a really solid rhythm to it. Excellent mixing as well. I honestly don't have anything to add to it.
I'm trying to make some progressive/bigroom trance ala stuff released on Lunary Records, Captivating Sounds, etc. I mainly have two questions about my WIP. What can I do to clean up the mix and is there any element missing or out of place that would not make this prog trance?
Thanks. |
Listened to this the other day and forgot to comment! .. Nice track, not sure if im into the main section with the big lead but that is just preference though .. it does sound like something Schulz might play :) I really like the prog sections u have like from 5.11 onwrds + at the start of the track too |

I really like this one, drew me right in
no holding back, very good delivery, good buildup, blends well with the beat when it comes in ... good work |

Alright for this I recorded Novation Bass Station2 and DX7.
Lets just say there's no theme yet and i just kept it basic. There are four basslines including subbass. There are no leads however, next wip i'll introduce them. First bassline is bandpass filter high end from retrosyntn, coming in a 0:30 is novation bass staion 2 acid bass as well as subass at the 1:00 minute mark. At 1;30 mark is DX7 bassline, let me know if you think if it needs a higher octave or if its fine.
The clip is only 2 mins in length, next will be at 4.
Cheers.

| Updated, added pad progressions, finally put an octave higher on the bassline at 1:30 and addeda lead which i think really sucks, makes me wanna give up and quite right now. damnit.:whip: |

i hear nothing special about your new amazing hardware synths though, you could just as well use ES2 |
Thats all subjective and depends on the listener of course. Also if you read the first post, i kept it basic as possible. |

The intro is not bad actually - nice techy feel with the kick and then the BS2 bass at 0:30
the background pads dont work tho
then u bring in the off beat bass - but you could get rid of that and just lower the cutoff on the BS2 bass to suit - you can hear the low end starts to sound squashed when that subbass comes in, its struggling
Listen to the arp at 2 mins - its not in key at all??? |

Thank you Evo for you review, i'll roll off the frequencies more for the bassline at 0:30, im going to keep all. The pads i'll change, i just slapped them on there with omnisphere, will use something to compliment the overall feel. |
