🐻 Don't know where I'm going with this. Just really like the cowbell. Could use some dialog or vocals.

This makes me think of those old platform games in the DOS era. Just need some 8bit game with it and done :D
Not sure what feedback I can give on this, sorry for that.

Thanks Evo! Right now, it is all over the board but I'm going to keep working it
As well and typical I uploaded the wrong version of Our House...this one has the mids and sub range added

Intro with the synths and piano is sweeeet! Nice builds. Tension build could be a bit smoother but works reasonable. The climax doesn't work for me, too many things demanding attention. Don't get me wrong, it's uplifting but there is a lot more potential to be had. In particular the beat is rather thin, maybe sidechain some stuff to make the mix a bit more breath. If you get the elements to sit well in the mix you have a beast :).

This reminds me of the old Magik Music compilations from Tiësto. Good stuff. The high end is a bit too washed out for me but it can be an aesthetical choice rather than being unintentional. It's not bothering me a lot anyways in the bigger picture. Especially that bass is sitting very well, really liking that! Not much more to say other than you better make sure you finish it! |

Been slowly getting back into producing. Hoping to finish a second track with neighbour soon after starting (and not continuing on it since) it 15 months ago.
Last week I decided to create some time and created 4 tiny snippets which I'm rather content with. Time will tell if they ever get finished :)

At this point "011 - Smoothoperator - 1" is my favorite - this nice and smooth vibe is really making it pleasurable to listen.

It has been some time since I release anything new but I had few WIP projects in pipe which range between Chillout and House styles - one of those WIP's is this track (no name yet):

oh yea storyteller nice work. and darius thats super nice, I think you have reached the apex, nothing needed.
trying to get a setup going, I need a second monitor after switching to ableton, with reason its just too much to fit on one screen and im not going 4k resolution. picked up an old interface but I need a power plug for it *doh. and dont have space for speakers jeez, maybe some iloud micro monitors. |
Hi Mac,
Majority of my work is done on headphones man (Sennheiser HD 280 Pro) like around 90% so you definitely can do it - just a final master will check on Yamaha's HS80M and HIFI B@W.

Almost afraid to ask the wife to take the majority of workspace on our workdesk :D. The past year I bought and ultrawide screen, Ableton and an Audient ID2 while I sold off all the bigger stuff. I recently bought the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 blind with the whole working from home thing here in NL. Its price is bananas, the mic utter , but it feels great on the and and for production it works surprisingly well for me too, the mixdowns mostly translates pretty well to other systems. In a different league when comparing to the HD25's I had prior to this. But then again, you mentioned using headphones is not your preferred way of working. Get them monitors you need! ;)

Nice and chunky from 0:17 onwards! I like the housey feel. I feel the high end is a bit too much washed out with the long tailed hats here and there. A lot of variation, maybe even more than needed. Especially the trumpet(?) on the end does well.
Perhaps you could pick the best takes, make a few verses slightly different and something chorus-y in between and you got yourself a lovely track.
Not sure where to take it. Hoping to do 2 different takes, this one, and the previous snippet as seperate tracks.
And something I'm working on with the neighbor. Has had a few iterations now, I posted the first snippet over a year ago. Done in his super awesome studio with moogs, Fender rhodes and more awesome toys. |

Thank you ZSM (which is actually the ASAP abbreviation in Dutch). How can you lose a password anyway while being here for so many years? haha!
Woa! That starts loud :D
Considering your previous mentions about the headset this is a pretty decent mix. How the bass relates to the pad an piano is a bit messy because of the mix. I'm curious to see how this might progress. |

Actually this is going the way I was imagine it would lol - I don't think you have to spice up this WIP to much as this whole style of the track is on chill-house side with slowly evolving sublime melody - I could actualy hear some kind of cool pluck sound casually making it's way into this track, which would add a bit more variations to it, but rather then that you don't need much. So far so good.
Which key is this track in?

Yeah, this is the style I remember you were always good in Mac, just going to wait and see how you going to progress this WIP - my $0.02 I would boost your kick a bit (in Ableton you have Drum Buss option to adjust crunch and Boom appropriately).
Cheer,

More sustained bass and piano, not very creative lately

Nice one Gordan. Nice theme and chilled/plucky. I agree with SystematicX1 that some cleaning in the mix would help. |
