Jp, sorry I'm not being very constructive but I would just scrap that and move on. Your mixing is fine as per though :p
Edit: Removed my wip
note to self... give your ears a rest and go back for another listen before posting :toothless |

Idk, get rid of them kicks and it will probably make an alright intro for something?
Here's what I posted yesterday and took down. Same sounds but redone the notes.
I think it just sounds a bit flat if you know what I mean? |

It's a bit left-field of trance so sue me! It's quite repetitive on the ostinatos, will have to try programming more articulations or switch instruments for more variations. |

I agree with it sounding "flat." The progression is cool and doesn't really sound like anything I've heard before, but it doesn't really... move me? If that makes sense? I don't really feel an emotional connection to it. The sound design and production are quite good though. It sounds nice and wide.

I am so confused as to how I feel about this haha. It's definitely EXTREMELY repetitive. The intro was rather cool, but then everything that follows feels really forced to me and artificial. Idk. You have some really solid samples in there but as a "song" I have to say I'm not really a fan.
This is what I've got going on:
It's a dubstep track that I did the vocals on. Happy with it so far! |

Sounds good Seandroid, you did a good job on the vocals! Maybe I am just not used to music with drops, but it sounded like you kept the low pass filter on for a while before the drop. Its a minor nitpick.
So, this is my first attempt at a prog trance type track. Not sure where to go from here really. There is something about the percussion I don't like yet I can't really put my finger on it. Need other peoples ears!
EDIT: Updated the track, thanks for the feedback guys some really good advice :)

That closed hat is way to loud. And the panning automation gets confusing. I would like to hear the thing without that hat. |

The vocals are definitely adding to your game, are they just from sample packs or are they from existing tracks? I don't do dub step so I find it hard to comment although I think I mentioned this before that your wubs and rar rars are sounding like they should be now sitting in the right place. Its hard to explain, its like you used them sounds before but they weren't processed the way your doing them now and sounded kinda funny in the mix if that makes any sense? I'm not keen on your intro but from 40seconds on you have my attention!

For me, it's not so much the percs but the bass is way too much. I know its deep but turn it down, maybe add another layer over the top an octave higher to give it more presence. |

I performed the vocals! Like, I sang them, and recorded them myself. |

First attempt at music after about three years. Nevermind the levels/EQ for now. |
