Okay thanks! I've made some changes. The bass now travels C-E-D, which seems like a nicer progression anyway, and it's a different sound that hopefully doesn't detract in the same way.
Completely reworked the percs--layered claps instead of just one, a new hi-hat section, and some smacky snare. Trying to push the drums more forward in the mix and teasing apart the synths a little more. Will post an updated version later today. |

Started messing with windows 8.1 via mac bootcamp so I can play some steam games and I decided to try Cubase 8 Pro on it. The good side is that I'm leaning more towards than logic, I have my subjective reasons tho but anyway yeah Happy Holidays.
Will add more hits and stab like percussion and more melody of course as the track progresses, also reverse sweeps. |

Beautiful wip my friend, reverb settings are top notch and mixdown is quite clear on par. Nothing negative to say about it so far. good stuff man.

Yeah I don't like Cubase's internal compressor and I think overdid attack settings maybe minus a couple ms would do. We'll see when I add more stuff to the final mix, anyhow thanks man, we'll post a longer version. |

i found myself distracted by the kick, thats all - the kick should be there, present, but not the sole focus. Honestly a different kick would be much better imo, maybe something more 909-ish?
or if your saying you have enhanced the attack portion i would maybe undo that
edit: and thanks for the comment on mine :) |

Yeah I was thinking of 909 earlier before. Imo I feel satisfied to put it from my tr-8 but I just started this wip under windows and everything is ITB. Yeah I know could find samples online but wouldn't do my purchase justice heh. Anyway yeah your welcome bro. |

Definitely one of the best from you my friend - I only wished that this break at 1:03 could be prep a bit better. Great work on those FX which give this track a special flavor.
Nice work so far and have a great Holiday ;)

Already left you a comment on soundcloud, but to make it official I'll give it love here too haha. My only wish would be to make the kickdrum more focused/solid. I really hope you will make a full track out of it. |

I am definitely not a fan of this style so I can't say much about it musically, only that you should add that synth way earlier, after that mini break, because at that point without it the track seems to be about nothing, just random sounds put together. But that's just my opinion, I don't listen to this type of music so don't take my word too seriously. As for the mixdown, it sounds a little dry at this point. |

Thanks for your feedback man, yeah I just added everything together real quick because I'm native to Cubase and its def hard for me to create a interesting journey at the beginning, so thanks for pointing that out. Can you tell me what needs to done with my mixdown so it isn't dry? not to be blunt can you u be alittle more specific, thanks btw. |
