The tone is so clean on this and your previous. Very nice production D. I would say this however, both of your last two tracks have not been there on an emotional level for me like some of your previous.
I mean, the production is quite nice but the elements just don't seem as original as your previous.
I cannot really pin point what it is actually that is turning me off from this track, perhaps it just seems a bit to clean and I like a little bit of that dirtiness.
I mean, it's a nice track but it just has this tonality of "clean" and brightness. It could very well be your chord choices as well, it's just a bit to cheery for me but this could just be a creative difference.
It could also be the space I am in right now. I've been exploring my darker side lol |

Hey Systematic!
That snip starts sweet. Cool synths, bass on the background. Piano sounds a bit static but the vibe is sweet. New synths coming just as much. I was expecting a cleaner beat to drop in (probably because I listen Hospital Records stuff every now and then).
All in all a well balanced track with plenty of excitement and variation. Not sure of it would work but playing with note timing an velocity on the piano and adding some percs (hats mostly I guess) to the beat to make it feel speedier is what I'd suggest.
Some parts for a track, not molded together very well but a fun listen I reckon. :) |

Storyteller,
You may not realize this but, that is the nicest thing you have said about ANY of my tracks, in 10 years. LOL Appreciate the feedback and kind words.
Poppy - I was kind of reading your notes on the track. First off, love the opening synth tonality. I dig the closed filter and that one "squelching" open/drop @ 0:00:14. The ride of that closed filter is cool but seems to lose it's drive the further it moves along. It isn't that I don't like that tail however, just as a suggestion, I would keep riding that line until you arrive at the 0:00:39 mark but introduce the piano at that mark to take the void off that filter instead of an earlier introduction of the piano. That way, it brings something bright in to make up for that filter going lower.
At the 0:00:47 mark, that Electrovibe piano comes in under the filter, personally...I would take that off the filter to show it's brightness but keep the pad in it's lower filter frequency you have automated.
The third part intro @ the 0:01:00 mark changes abruptly, not sure if this is what you wanted on a creative level. But, I really dig how that translates in transition. Nice roll to bring it in.
Not so sure about the extra note on the snare, it seems a little "off".
Overall, this track has a really nice old school housey vibe that has that old Detroit/UK feel. Once the track starts moving it really has a nice groove. And totally dig that beginning synth. This one has a lot of potential Story! |

Honestly I wasn't aware whatsoever. It does come from a good place, good intent and I hope it came across that way too.
Thank you for you extensive review! Happy holidays! |

A little stuck on this, the Lead Pluck is standing out in the stereo mix. I had a little better mix when I hit some surgical EQ on it but, it just seems to either go back or in front of the mix regardless of what I do. Also, am I a little crisp in the high frequency tones?

Beginning is interesting, cool arp and bass plucks. Oldschool trance feel.
On to bass plucks and new sound. I was wondering when the build up would end at some point, it threw me off here and there.
Honestly you've got cool synth action going on, the beat needs work to pull it's weight with the big synths. A heavier kick and snare I would recommend to starts with.
The two lead synths in the end would benefit from being less loud compared to other elements.
---
Something I'm working on. A bit is slightly off-key, not yet sure how to fix that on the guitar sample. ☹️

Samples are without a doubt harder to use, especially a guitar chop. You could take that one particular note, cut it before and after and pitch it or drop it an octave? But truly it sounds a little portomento'ish and doesn't actually sound that bad on the flat note transitions.
Dig the groove, percussion seems a little "crunchy" but the arrangement fits.
Pads underlying are really nice.

New cut that I am really enjoying the progression on,still needs some work

Thanks D! Appreciate that. I "think" I may have found my personal niche` in LD&B as I feel very comfortable in creating these tracks. |

Listening on headphones. Great vocs and cool piano + pads
Kick seems a bit loud for the mix. great synth plucks. Rythm and vibe are quitee right. Bass could probably benefit from a bit more compression. That edge on the bass that comes in later is great!
Honestly this is great. Cool vibes. That small bridge at 2:50 could be a bit cleaner. I'm waiting for the part where I'm be overwhelmed with big pads and a somewhat cleaner liquid dnb beat comes flowing in. Now you've got some of those edgy drums like I had in my clip :p
Most of what I've written down here is personal preference. You've really really created a great piece of work here!

Thanks soo much for that. Yea, I am really gelling with this stuff and of course, the monitors make a HUGE difference as now I am HEARING the bass (and rather timid of it to..lol) So, I've created about 11 Songs that I am looking into submitting, unsure if I will ever go that route.
Now, hope you guys can get back into some action over here to, I want to hear more of your guys development =OP |
