Wow I feeel like i learned a lot in little time. Now it actually feels like song writing than just throwing every thing together as if I were just jamming, Storyteller's approach is more artistic and artisan like. Def gave this track more room, space, and journey like texture.
Thanks guys. Now how do i go about finishing. Also if you think there's more changes to be done don't hesitate, i love criticism, it only helps.
Practice, practice.

The male vocals don't blend well with the track and can hardly be heard. Maybe try making them louder and adding some fx and see if that works. Track needs more breaks, buildups, quiet, and more variety in percussion. You got that background percussion (rimshot and hats?) throughout the entire track, which makes it too repetitive. |

All your tracks sound the same - the bassline stays on the same note, if you change the bassline notes through a progression, combined with your chords, thats where the emotion kicks in
Also your kicks are just too strong and dominant - they dont fit in with anything
You need to look at what you are doing, where you are going because its like your stuck in a rut at the moment.
Forget the gear, the plugins...concentrate on making something people wont turn off after 30 seconds
Why are you making music? What are you getting out of it? Are you happy with the music you are making right now?
p.s. everybody that has made tunes were at the same place you are now, once upon a time... |

Yeah I know man, I'm going through a phase right now and i kind do feel stuck but my structure improved. I don't feel comfortable with moving the bass but I know i have to work on it and I will. Thanks for your honest feedback.
One question. The bass starts at 1:00 Min when do i move it? yeah its a dumb to ask but i really feel uncomfortable and a total newb on that concept. I feel like if I master that and little more melody progression, I guess i'll pas the level of average.
Oh this is the first for me using the Gmajor. |

| I suggest you study in detail the structure of the tracks and producers you like and try to recreate that. Different genres of EDM follow certain formulas, which you should familiarize yourself with. I'm sure you already know this, but it can't hurt to study some tracks again to get some inspiration and clues, so you can get a clearer picture of what you need to work at. |

I just wanted to hear his take LOL. Anyhow my kicks are actually little softer than my fav artist who is john askew. Anyway I'm def happy with my work so far and will try my best to improve. |

| You should discipline yourself to finish tracks before you move on to the next one(s). You might find it hard to improve if all you work on are rough drafts. Just my 2 thoughts. |

I kinda disagree. I started this one when Tron came out and just went back to it last night. If i don't feel comfortable because lack of technique and skill I don't mind not finishing it. I can always come back later with out deleting everything, or redoing. |

| You can always come back, but how do you intend to improve on skill and technique if you don't finish your projects? At the end of the day, WIPs don't mean anything because they are unfinished projects. Having a couple of interesting loops doesn't mean you've improved on technique, it means you've simply created a nice loop. Skill and technique is within the structure of the overall track, which requires a WIP to be completed. |

I still disagree with that notion. Finishing something you have idea on doing is just a stubborn approach. The more comfortable you get trying new ideas different times until every thing sounds right (In Harmony or in key). I'm def gonna finish this one btw. I can't find anything wrong except variety in difference.
You can always come back, i agree with that but than you have to delete 50 to 75% depending how bad you were at the time. If its still a wip than you still have the core ideas in place there to finish on. |

Just go with what you feel is right - when the right time is to start moving the progression - kinda tease it out at the start
listen to this - i know its old and nothing like modern "trance" but forget that for a second and just listen to how the track unfolds
i agree about finishing tracks but i never ever go back to old projects...but thats just me - if isnt happening it gets deleted |
