Question to the TOTA phone masses that know way more than me:
Can I (safely) use my Moto Q OEM car charger with my Pearl?
I don't have an official BB car charger, but both my Q and my Pearl have mini-USB connection ports. So I've just been using my Q car charger instead of running out and wasting money on some expensive BlackBerry car carger (or some cheaper no-name generic one).
I guess I'm just concerned that using a charger aimed at another phone product maybe damage my battery or something? (I truly have no idea what could be an issue.) A Google search seems to reveal that some say that using a non-BB designated charger could affect my Pearl's battery life, even though they are both mini-USB. (Something about amp/charging differences or something?)
Can anyone weigh in here with their knowledge/thoughts?
Thanks.
P.S. And im assuming of course that the data cable (USB to minUSB) from my Q is A-OK . Cant see that mattering at all. |

You can use any Mini USB Charger to charge your phone.
The only is sometimes it might not actually charge, depending on how much charge is actually being sent through.
I use my GPS car charger for my blackberry all the time.
Plus don't worry about battery life. You'll be getting a new phone before you'll need to get a new battery. and if you do need a new battery, you can probably by one on eBay (from China of course) for like $5.
