17 year-old makes $130,000 selling white iPhone 4s
The New York Observer reports that a 17 year-old New Yorker has been ordering white iPhone 4 parts directly from a contact at Foxconn and putting his own conversion kits together. He has been doing so well with this business that he has earned around $130,000 during the 6-months he has been selling the devices.
Things were riding pretty smoothly for the boy until he received a letter from a private investigator. The sender of the investigator is unknown but a betting man might say a fruity company from Cupertino, California. Even with the fear of jail-time and fines for selling stolen goods online, the boy is not throwing up the white flag and has obtained an attorney.

Bell reverses massive $47,000 cellphone bill I think Ill still stay with Bell
Heres a really quick summary of yet another massive cellphone bill. Wanda Rooney and her daughters Alexandra and Victoria live in a hour north of Montreal in Ste. Marguerite du Lac Masson. Where they live they dont get high speed internet so she opted to get herself an internet stick, only to find out that the 3 stores she visited were sold out. So Wanda calls Bell customer service where she was informed that she has unlimited internet on her cellphone and that she can just connect your phone to your computer. After asking 3 times to make sure that no additional charges would be incurred and an hour on the phone, she was good to go.
A week later her phone was disconnected. She stated that When I spoke to the agent, he told me I had a very high balance. He told me $47,000, and then told me I had to agree to pay a minimum payment of $300 for my phones to be reconnected. That was months ago and since that day she has been getting 20-page bills with her most recent for another $12,000. Bell has disconnected her phone a total of 6 times.
I have pointed out many times that it was a customer service person who told me to do this, only to be told that I spoke to the wrong department. I should have been speaking with Bell Mobility, not Bell Internet. But you cant choose who you get to speak to when you call, its Bell that chooses.
So fast forward to Tuesday when she received a call from a Bell employee named Gina who works at the office of the president. She apologized and informed her that the charges will be reversed and her current balance is now $181.16.
Rooney stated When I heard, I was so happy that I cried. She told me, she understood why I went to the newspapers about this because its been since July. I gave them a lot of time to handle this and they didnt. She was really nice I think Ill still stay with Bell. I have been a client for 30 years. But Im hoping after this that they offer me some sort of compensation for all the hours I have spent looking after these bills.

More Hints Of iPhone Coming To Verizon
Folks at CoverWeb had initially published a photo, claiming to be Verizon's white iPhone 4 with a redesigned antenna and no SIM card slot. But they've later updated the post to say that they are skeptical about the photo.
Meanwhile, folks at CultOfMac have noticed an interesting tweet from Verizon Careers, which is apparently an official Twitter account, which indicates that iPhone is coming to the Verizon.

1. The lack of a SIM card slot (Verizon doesnft use SIM cards)
2. A new antenna design (Goodbye Antennagate)
3. The Verizon symbol as a network in the upper left of the screen.
But they have later updated the post to say that it might be fake:
I know that it might be (probably) fake, at least it brings the real specs of the Verizon iPhone 4. Let's hope it's not fake.
Meanwhile folks at 9to5Mac have noticed the following tweet from one of Verizonfs official Twitter account. 9to5Mac reports:
The operator of Verizon Careers' Twitter account pimped their recent addition of the iPad to their mobile line-up, and was then asked by Twitter user slink317 for an "iPhone hint?"
Verizon Career's response accompanied a retweet of slinky123s question: "yes that is the latest scoop."
(It's fake, since DFU mode won't display the carrier's name. Also the material of the white glass and the cord is not genuine)

It's easy for us to say this when were tech people, but some people just don't realize and companies don't make it easy to understand. Saying unlimited internet when it's really not, there's just a soft cap, then they throttle your connection after that, isn't right. Canada and US are working on laws right now to hopefully change this, because of reasons like this massive charge she got. I don't think it's 100% her fault, it's partly the carriers for sure. Most people in our parents generation have no clue about this type of , and if the carriers purposely try to mislead them, is it really all their fault? Hell no.

Unlimited Internet (dumb phone) = UMB - Unlimited Mobile Browsing = WAP and not data.
I had the same case too, my bill was only $150.00 and others had it really bad. With my case was diff, the CSR should of realize UMB can't not be added to any smartphone and uses WAP serives, not full HTML that uses data. I called Rogers up, asked why I had these charges and I was about to unless HELL if they credit my account ... but they were so cool about it.

Dumb = Uneducated CSR & Data was really new in 2006 (5MB for $25) Google'ing it didn't help either.

Dumb = Uneducated CSR
Dumber = Kept paying the minimum of $300 to reactivate her phone 6x
Dumbiest = Staying with Bell
This is the 3rd case from Bell with their unlimited internet.

EARLIER TODAY: Developer Reports Major VoIP Bug in iOS 4.2 GM
Toktumi, the developer of popular app called Line2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch has sent an email to its customers to inform them about a bug in iOS 4.2, which results in the ringer continuing to ring even after a call is answered when Line2 is running in the background.
Toktumi is advising customers to avoid upgrading to iOS 4.2.
This is the email that was sent to users by Toktumi:
Attention all Line2 iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users:
Please do not upgrade to iOS version 4.2.
If you upgrade to iOS 4.2 and you are running Line2 in the background, the ringer will continue to ring even after an incoming call is answered. This affects Line2 as well as all other VoIP and social calling apps. (Note: If you do not use Line2 your Toktumi service will not be effected.)
Apple Developer Support is aware of this issue and has designated its status as 'severe'. However, as of the most recent iOS beta (GMSeed build), this issue is still not resolved. We apologize for this inconvenience and will update you as soon as we get more information from Apple.
Line2 will continue to work as normal with your current operating system. We strongly encourage you not to install iOS 4.2 until Apple fixes the upgrade issue. We will send out an email update as soon as it is safe to upgrade.

It is not clear if Apple has delayed the release of iOS 4.2 also because of this bug. Apple had released an updated version of iOS 4.2 GM for iPad to developers of iOS Developer program to fix the Wi-Fi connectivity bug that was affecting iPad users.
Weve heard rumors that the release of iOS 4.2, which was earlier expected last week based on the release of iOS 4.2 GM might be delayed to November 24th.
iOS 4.2 will bring a number of new features like AirPlay and AirPrint to iOS devices. Besides this, its a major update for the iPad as it finally brings iOS 4 features like Game Centre, multitasking and folder management to the iPad that were only available on the iPhone and iPod Touch until now.
