iPhone 3G & 3GS users, stay away from 4.2.1 w/ Baseband 6.15.00
When the Dev Team gives you a serious warning, you had better respect what they say. Unlocking 05.14.02 & 05.15.01 is the hardest unlock I've faced ever and never would want to experience that kind of problem solving for any iPhone again. Since this ver of unlocking uses the baseband of the iPad firmware 3.2.2, there's tons of problems from many users who had loaded it. On the other hand; many had no problems, but it's not worth the ordeal if you just "want" it.
Sure there are custom IPSW of iOS 4.2.1 w/ Baseband 6.15.00 on the web, but you'll soon find out about the nightmare when you need to restore it. This is only for users who need it and have the skills to get yourself out of the most horrific, labour intense and complex restore.
A) You cannot restore it, even with the custom IPSW file w/ any DFU software.
B) You cannot restore it back to the orginal iOS 4.2.1, you'll be stuck in DFU mode and none of the DFU software will get you out of it.
I just spent 6 hours of loading, restoring, jailbreaking and DFU kicking to restore this SOB. I used all the diff iOS vers and jailbreaking softwares out there and finally got the iPhone 3G back to working state with method that doesn't make any sense.
I won't be posting nor helping anyone with this restore at all and I hope you guys who need unlocking, stay at a iOS ver that is unlockable. |

infinity blade looks amazing. Also the Barrel tweek from cydia is pretty neat, looks cool on the IP4
Has anyone had this problem...When I talk to my girlfriend I cant hear a word she says but once she goes on speaker phone/headset I can hear her just fine. It just started happening a week ago, we got our phones at the same time and mine is working great. |

Some people don't take off the original plastic that came with the phone (like I in the first week or so since I got it) as I didn't get the real/proper cover for the phone so that may be her issue?
That original cover covers the earspeaker so maybe that's why you can't hear her?
Stupid thought but it's been known to happen. |

You've already answered your own question, go see Apple and your GF has a defective mic.
Re: Cases; we've already covered this topic for the 3G, 3GS & IP4. |

iOS 4.2 supports new tech to reduce network congestion, Nokia Siemens says

One of the world's top suppliers of cellular infrastructure, Nokia Siemens, has dropped some juicy knowledge today that Apple's new iOS 4.2 update supports a technology called network-controlled fast dormancy that better optimizes how the phone connects to the network. The company touts that it's a win-win -- better battery life, less unnecessary network utilization -- and also points out that Nokia implemented the technique in all of its smartphones starting earlier this year. Since network-controlled fast dormancy is a feature that benefits the network itself as much as it benefits the individual user, knocking out two power players like Nokia and Apple (over half of new smartphone sales, NSN points out) should make a big dent.
Interestingly, NSN seems to have arrived at this discovery through "tests" it conducted, not by working with Apple on implementing it. Sure, we don't pretend to know all the interactions that occur between manufacturers, carriers, and suppliers during a phone's development, but it certainly seems to us that Apple would benefit by engaging infrastructure companies early and often as these baseband updates come together -- particularly as it seeks to keep a tight lid on the very congestion issues that network-controlled fast dormancy is designed to help eliminate. Either way, it's interesting to see how quick Nokia Siemens was to probe for the change this time around. |

I don't use the iPhone for games much, but those screen shots made me say DAMN!!
What other games are similar to that one? I already passed all the levels on Jelly Car 2 so I am over that game, pretty much the only game I have gotten lol :toothless |

So i finally got my iP4 today :)
Time to pimp it out. The 3G is being used strictly hacking & jb purposes now. I have the 4.2.1 update w/ 6.1.5 ipad installed for the unlock. Worked flawlessly. |
