just tested this out tonight over wifi using my skypeout account. its CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!! Just like talking on a regular phone!!!
still gotta try it out over 3g to see how it works. waiting for a release hopefully soon |
Like I said man ....
You have to get voipover3Gg, then you have to hack it, patch it yourself ... that part has nothing to do with Skype. Tons of work you have to do and get another app to support it.
Are you sure you used Fring on 3G before? |

Blackberry app store is amazing so far!
Love that they have Shazam for Free (only until may 31 though). I wish it was free forever like on the iPhone...
I used my buddies version of Shazam a while ago on the iPhone and was amazed how it was able to recognize so many EDM songs!
The only rip off with BB store, is that the minimum price is $2.99 for any app (besides free). No $0.99 or $1.99 apps allowed (yet I hope).

UPDATED: iPhone 3.0 Beta 2 Now Available for Developers

UPDATED: According to the screenshot we just received, looks like Apple has, for the first time, re-jiggered the order of Apps on the Home Screen (previously they just added iTunes and then App Store). Now Voice Memo takes Clocks spot, Notes switches with Calculator, Clock goes where Notes was, and Calculator bumps Settings to the bottom row along with iTunes and App Store, which move left a slot to make room. Not sure about this new arrangement, what do you think?
Also, there’s apparently a new Settings panel for Store, although it sounds like it’s blank right now.
ORIGINAL: Sneaking in just before the end of March, Apple has released iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 2, both SDK and firmware to developers. If you’re spinning apps for this summer’s big release, head on over to developer.apple.com and get your download on.
TiPB has already done a fairly extensive iPhone 3.0 walkthrough of the front-facing elements of Beta 1, but we’ll have to wait for the usual deep-code divers out on the internet to let us know if there’s anything new surfaced in Beta 2. |

Make sure you you do this too
1)update "Mobilesubstrate"
2)Get Intelliscreen and turn on "performance booster" for voipover3g, backgrounder, winterboard
or Skype won't be stable for Jailbroken phones. |

Phone Gods: I need your assistance!
I'm getting a new phone--it's either going to be an iPhone or a blackberry (I suppose the latest model, whichever that is.)
I'm totally clueless when it comes to phones. All I'm really looking for is quick and easy e-mail access--I also text a lot. Besides that, though, I could not care less about instant messaging or browsing the web, or anything of the sort. As such, I don't want to pay unnecessary fees towards services I will never use.
Also, I'm with Rogers, so if there is anything going on that I can take advantage of at this time I'd appreciate the info. |
