My TomTom One cost me 89.99 two years ago, so I don't get the point of the app IMO. I guess it depends on how you would use it.
When I was in Washington DC and NYC last year, I just took my TomTom with me, and I had all my maps and subway stops, and the internal lithium battery lasts for almost 2 hours always on, so they are portable.
If you already have a GPS in your car, you probably don't need it.
If you don't already have one, yes it would be nice to have.

Simple:
Indash GPS are expensive and not that great. You can't customize things. Updating the maps are an arm and a leg, haven't seen anyone put them on net for sharing.
Stand alones are big and ugly, you gotta take it out of the car or you'll become a traget. Once out of the car, it's in your pocket and what do you do with it? Can't make any calls ...
Now, once you take it out of the car ... notice your mounting is still on the winshield? Once you look at those mounting with the gps taken out, everyone knows that's a cradle for a stand alone, your still a traget. Now you want to be a smart ass and take out the mounting ... guess what? Once your windshield fogs up, you'll see the rings from the "suction cup" and if you tried to wipe them out after parking ... they know your trying to hide them b/c that area was recently wiped.
At the end of the story, don't use stand alones ... high risk of your car getting broken into. They're the hotest items for theft, since it takes no tools and your out in 1 min.

It's a solid device.... liek it alot, it's nice blend between the curve 8900 and the Bold 9000...
No issues with it yet...
If there is battery issue (which we've never heard of), make sure you're not running to many simultaneous applications, use Bluetooth sparingly and make sure you're not running the GPS all the time. And music...
it's all fairly common sense, media/music will suck the battery down, conistent vibrate for all alerts will drop it down to, change your profiles to be only SMS vibrate and e-mails no sound just notifications....

I just discovered trapster for the iphone!! wow it's amazing.

Are you connected to 3G or EVDO? Also, make sure you do proper charging of Li-ion batteries. Most people don't realize that you lose maximum charge if you don't charge the battery from empty to full only.

RIM buys Torch Mobile, BlackBerrys might finally get a decent browser
The default BlackBerry browser has long been laughably sad, but it looks like things are about to get better: RIM's just acquired Torch Mobile, the developers behind the Iris mobile browser. If you'll recall, Iris is a well-received WebKit-based browser for Windows Mobile that offers tabbed browsing, touch, and a skinnable UI -- and we hear it does a pretty good job rendering pages as well. Of course, since it's Windows Mobile-only at the moment it'll be a while before BlackBerry fans actually see any results from this acquisition, but it's nice to see RIM taking some big steps to address what's become a major shortfall with the platform -- and hey, maybe that extra time is what it'll take to add the promised full Flash and Silverlight support to the system. Yep, lots of solid potential here -- now if only RIM would build in proper IMAP support, we'd be all set.
