Thing is I don't wand to spend 200 bucks on the kit with the screen.
I am willing to drop ~100 bucks, but that kit doesn't come with the screen.
I would have to take my screen off of the digitizer frame, which I am afraid of because I might break it. :nervous:
And when I was going to do it, I never found a video that shows the screen separation. Now, June is already around the corner. I would have it 3-4 months and then drop more cash for the new iPhone.
Aren't there also rumors of the white i4 being released soon?? |

Blackberry & Google rejected Nokia, before the Microsoft partnership.

According to an unconfirmed report from TechCrunch Europe, Nokia explored a possible partnership with BlackBerry maker Research In Motion before announcing its decision to adopt Windows Phone 7. It had been widely reported that Nokia was deciding between Google’s Android platform and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS when considering its future, but RIM’s BlackBerry platform was apparently also in the running to become Nokia’s potential savior. Citing “well-placed sources,” the blog claims that RIM wasn’t interested in a partnership and so the decision came down to two options. The report goes on to suggest that Google’s refusal to let Nokia make certain changes to the Android platform also played a big role in the Finnish giant’s final decision. Nokia, for example, wanted to replace Google Maps with Ovi Maps and change the way Android handles various PIM data, and Google said no. Nokia could have foregone Google’s blessing and done whatever it wanted with the open source platform, of course, but then it would just end up back where it started. In the end, Microsoft and its Windows Phone 7 operating system won — possibly by default — and the rest is history… or “future,” as it were. |
It seems Nokia going down for the count. They really shot themselves in the foot, going to Windows. I honestly do not know why Google didn't just use Nokia. Nokia makes solid phones. Only thing that plagued Nokia is their OS. |

Apple’s App Store is bad for consumers, AT&T CEO says

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson gave a keynote presentation at Mobile World Congress on Tuesday, during which he shared some interesting thoughts surrounding Apple’s iOS App Store. Stephenson expressed some distaste for the way Apple’s application ecosystem is set up at the moment, saying customers shouldn’t have to lose all of their apps if they switch to a device other than the iPhone. “You purchase an app for one operating system, and if you want it on another device or platform, you have to buy it again,” Stephenson said during his speech. “That’s not how our customers expect to experience this environment.” He went on to essentially call HTML5 the answer to the problem — more specifically, the carrier-run Wholesale Applications Community is the answer to the problem. WAC is a Web-based app store of sorts that houses Web apps theoretically compatible with any device that uses an HTML5-capable browser. The apps within will be limited in function for the time being, since only native apps can take advantage of all of the developer tools available for various platforms. That won’t stop carriers from pitching WAC, however, as they continue to search for ways to make money off of the booming economy apps have created. Each of the four major cellular carriers in the U.S. is a member of WAC, so expect to hear about it a good deal moving forward.

He's just butthurt because the kid down the street got a newer and shinier version of the same toy. Shows how classless the AT&T corporate culture is.

Because everybody makes Android phones and they'd become just another also-ran. At least with WinPho7 they can differentiate somewhat. Also, Android sucks. |

Apple OLED TV?

An Apple job posting reveals that the company is looking for someone to work on the next-generation power supply technology for a television, 9to5Mac reports.
The position primarily involves high-density offline power supply’s development for Apple’s next generation Macintosh platforms spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, standalone displays and TV.
An Apple television has been rumored for years with analyst Gene Munster predicting one in CY12.
(An Apple OLED Television would be indeed impressive) |
