Gizmodo now cooperating in iPhone 4 prototype investigation
The District Attorney’s office of San Mateo County has received approval for a request to withdraw the warrant it used to search and seize property owned by Gizmodo editor, Jason Chen. San Mateo Superior Court Judge, Clifford Cretan, gave the rubber stamp of approval on Friday and all items seized in the raid will be returned to Chen. This development comes hot on the heels of a Wall Street Journal report that Gizmodo is now cooperating in the iPhone prototype investigation. According to the WSJ, Gizmodo and Chen have voluntarily agreed to give investigators access to materials that are deemed to be relevant to their case. San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney, Chris Feasel, also confirmed that Gizmodo and Chen have agreed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. All that legal wrangling over the controversial iPhone prototype seems to coming to a somewhat amicable end for Gizmodo et. al.

iPhone DSLR: the next generation (video)
Everything you know about awkwardly attaching SLR lenses to iPhones is wrong. This is how you do it. What started out as a quick and less-than-perfect mod of OWLE's Bubo iPhone mount by one Jeremy Salvador (pictured above) has turned into a collaboration between production company Vid-Atlantic and OWLE itself on a more finely tuned, iPhone 4-friendly prototype that delivers some truly impressive results. Sadly, the actual iPhone 4 version of the rig won't be available for a while yet, but you can get an idea of what will be possible with it after the break.
Called Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, the game looks like a crazy mix of Puzzle Quest and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. The title puts players in role of Alucard in the title's story mode; alternately, players can play as or against other characters, ripped directly from Symphony of the Night.
So close ... wish the ported STON onto the iPhone.

Verizon's LTE rollout is imminent, computers updated for 4G SIM cards.
We just got some alleged (but very convincing) internal documents on Verizon's 4G plans, and it's mostly stuff we've already heard -- 5-12Mbps down, aircards before smartphones, and plans to roll out in 30 cities in 2010. That said, documents dated this week show the company's still on track to serve up 100 million connections by the end of the year, and a pair of independent tipsters have just sent us pics of Verizon computers ready and waiting for those precious LTE SIM cards. Furthermore, the docs also claim that the planned LTE isn't just fast, it's got a lag-destroying 30ms latency too, and fans of wider wireless computing can expect 4G tablets of some sort in 2011 as well. See all the goodies in our gallery below.
(Could this be the new US carrier for the iPhone? 5-12mps is not 4G LTE)

Does anyone have a link to a step by step on how to DOWNGRADE from iOS 4.0 to 3.0.1?
I can't take how slow my 3G is now with 4.0, everything takes 5 times longer to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is it July 30th yet? :(

Remove all gradient and shadow png files from this location
/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
I feel a very very very minor diff from 3.1.3 to 4.0 with this method, I kid you not ... even with or without wallpaper. Multitasking is a diff story, still not enough apps that have the APIs.

Its not about being tech or gadget savvy (or whatever moronic title society love to label some ppl), it is about falling instructions properly. All the info I have been posting in this thread for the past 2 years, is pretty much handing everything on a golden platter to you guys and it's totally cool to me. About 80-90% of these posts are by me and many others have contributed also, we all agree ... we are not here to hold ppl's hands, we will guide you with all the details you will need. However, the results will be based upon your performances and we do not hold responsible on the outcome.
What other non-iPhone forum would have this much info on Jailbreak, Hacks, Mods, Troubleshoot, News & Unlocking? Not much for sure ...
Follow these intsructions to speed up you iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4
1) Jailbreak your unit
2) Install open ssh
3) ssh into your unit
4) Remove all gradient and shadow png files from this location
/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
5) Reboot and smile
If you still don't understand, your best friends are google and youtube. It's been two years and I hope by now you guys understand what I'm talking about. If not, start your homework from page one ... many ppl have done it and the outcome is worth it.
Good luck to all.
PS One more thing I would like to add ...
I hope you guys understand, I dont know it all ... IMO, I know a little and everyday I'm learning. Even if it's from other sources I seek or here, there's so much to learn about this OS.
