FB 3.0 is light years better than 2.0... no contest there.

Facebook 3.0.1 (Which is being worked on as we speak)
1) Push Notification
Dont know how or what server is gonna handle all those Push data w/ that many users
2) Video
I hope they get it sorted out before this update.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I shoud get either an HTC Touch Diamond HD (yes it was unveiled 1 yr ago) or the latest iPhone. I love the MS operating system of the HTC, but the iPhone has so much ppl backing it up with these "apps" and 3rd party gizmos.
Does one have to use that iTunes crap to access the calendars and stuff?
Will it work with Microsoft Activesync (or something like that) to sync with MS Outlook?
Can you just plug it in the puter and drag and drop tunes in it?

Yeah, I had the same questions.... itunes does the outlook conversions (contacts, calendar), coverts mp3s to their format. I've used winCE for several years, but the mac os on this thing is so much easier!

Whatever you like dude, but the key here is 3rd party support. The more the better and that's why I had the Treos for so many yrs. Billion of apps ppl made that made my life easier & there was no ristrictions at all. (RIP my beloved Treos)

A)Yes
B)Yes
C)No, drag to iTunes & sync your playlist

Since I got my 6GB plan, I have been trying out a few music streaming services. These are not radio stations, rather they stream your collection over wifi/3g to your phone. Here are the three front runners that I have tested and liked.
Simplify Music 2
This one is probably the best of all worlds.
Pros
- great buffering
- good sound quality
- seeking through tracks works
- next to no set up
- Displays album art
- handles FLAC
- search
- windows, mac, linux
Cons
- transcodes music, so quality is degraded
- cannot view music through directory structure, must use artist/album/genre
Pros
- streams music, videos, pics, tv (!)
- can stream through a web browser
- very easy set up, no messing about with IP's
- folder views, so you dont have to use tagging
Cons
- poor transcoding
- no seeking through the mp3
- windows only (for the server)
XBMC Streamer
Pros
- does not transcode!
- works with XBMC library (my fav media player)
- funky visualizations
- did i say it does not transcode?
- folder views, to get around ID3Tags
- windows, mac, linux, xbox, apple tv (anywhere XBMC runs)
Cons
- must set up set up IP and port forwarding
- no seeking through files
Most of these are pretty much the same. I personally like the XBMC streamer best because it does not transcode, but that also requires a good connection on both ends. After that, Simply Music 2 is awesome. It is more versatile than the other two, but its just that transcoding bit that holds me back. blog entry

Just took a look. Doesn't seem like you can stream your own collection to the iPhone.
