New iPhone might come out on Monday, right after WWDC. They're trying to stop the Palm Pre which comes out the day before.
EDIT: Rumor has it, the new iPhone3GS will have a front cam for video convo, I would like to see the guys from Cydia to use an app for security reasons.
Example: Slide to unlock ... the cam takes a pic of the persons face, sends the GPS locations and emails it to your inbox.

Disapointing Hardware upgrade with 3GS

I'm getting the TomTom app for sure. I have an older GPS and my maps have been outdated for a year now haha, but I can't hook it up to my PC to upgrade the maps because it's too old lol. Luckily I won't have to purchase a new GPS unit now :D
So next next Wednesday is the day it looks like we will get our hands on the OS 3.0! Finally haha. Super excited for the real time alerts now available to the iPhone applications. That's one of the features I love the most, all the other stuff is just a bonus.
As for the new iPhone3G S, meh to the hardware upgrades. Obviously any increase in speed is good, and battery life, but will it make me want to purchase it? I don't think so. It's not big enough of a change for me to spend the $. We are getting a free upgrade to the iPhone 3.0 software, and both phones get this. The added features of the iPhone3G S I can't even see myself using, so screw it.
Voice control is always so sketchy still on any phone that it's hardly ever useful, especially unless it's super quiet around you. The digital compass? Who cares lol. Video recording? Okay, but I can guarantee my digital camera does a better job of this, as well as a better job of taking pictures. If I'm going to a place where I want to take pictures, I bring my camera, because I want quality. If someone randomly crashes into a pole on the street and I want to take a picture, my iPhone does a good enough job of taking a picture of this event right now, I don't need to shell out more $ to get this.

iPhone 3GS looks okay at best.
I wouldn't upgrade to it from an 3G.
If you aren't currently an iPhone user, then I would consider getting the 3GS.
I'd be more excited for 3.0 on the iPhone then 3GS.
I also liked the fact that the new Snow Leopard would be only a $29 fee to upgrade! I'm still going to get it for free, but its nice to know Apple does care about the consumers lol

hmmmmmmm I wonder how I'm gonna load my RLC & SpeedTraps alerts into the iPhone's ver of TomTom
Nerologic
WOW what a ing let down
iPhone 3G S LOL
What a joke, but my stupid ass is still going to buy it on June 17th.
I am just MAJORLY disappointed. It really doesn't have many noticeable advantages over the regular 3G. And on top of that it looks the ing same.

You can just download Speed Tracks and RLC waypoints for the TomTom. You then set it notify you if you are withing x metres from one of those waypoints.
I'm sure you can do what you are able to do with current tom toms.

I'm not paying a yearly fee for the TomTom vers, they most likely get their data off my source too.
For sure I gotta SSH+WIFI+WINSCP it to load the files ...

Does anyone know if there's a complete list of all the new enhancements in OS 3.0? Similar to a list when a service pack comes out for operating systems?

iPhone 3G S plans revealed on Rogers, O2
It'd take a really acutely developed talent for shutting oneself off from news to not know how much the iPhone 3G S is going to run on AT&T -- $199 and $299 for the 16GB and 32GB models on contract, just in case you've forgotten -- but what about some of the other countries that are destined to be launching the new model alongside the US on the same day? Up north, we've been told by a company spokesman that Apple partner Rogers will be pricing them at CAD $199 and $299 on three-year contracts, which works out to about $177 and $266; the old 3G, meanwhile, will be sold for (you guessed it) CAD $99. Tethering will be available and there will be no-contract pricing, but details haven't yet been announced there. Meanwhile, O2 over in the UK has dropped details on its site that put both the 3G S 16GB and 32GB as cheap as free if you sign up for a rich-enough two-year deal. Must be nice, eh?

Rogers Canada Brings Back $30/6GB Data Plans for iPhone 3G S
Looks like Rogers will be bringing back the $30/6GB data plans just in time for the iPhone 3G S launch!
Last year, to help defuse some of the negative publicity surrounding Canadian data rates in face of the iPhone 3G launch, Rogers extended a hand to data hungry users in the form of this plan — for a limited time only.
Recently Rogers brought the plan back for their Android handset as well, but it’s great to see it specified for our new iPhone.
Pricing is also given above for current, 2008 iPhone 3G hardware. We thought $99 would be the cheap rate, but it looks like either it’s not going down that far, or the system just hasn’t been updated yet.
Hopefully we’ll get more as the June 19 launch day approaches.
