To think of it, that fluff is on the outside. The massive air bubble is on the left side ... which you can't see :( Mid screen all the way to the bottom.

Apple and Verizon to deliver over-the-air iOS updates to Verizon iPhone
Apple has long provided an easy way to update the software on their ecosystem of mobile devices. The method used by Apple has been through the proxy of iTunes: when a new software update is available, users need to plug their device in via USB, click update, and the new software version is downloaded and installed.
Smartphone competitors of the iPhone have long offered a different, more direct method for software updates that happens over-the-air. Specifically, when an update to Googles Android operating system or HP/Palms webOS is released, users are provided an update notification and can update the software right off their network. No computer required.
Now, Apple wants to provide the same convinence to their iPhone users and is preparing to provide over-the-air iOS updates, starting this fall.
Multiple sources say the new feature will debut in iOS 5, meaning iOS 5 will not come over-the-air but following point updates to it will. Just like tethering in iOS 3, Apple has the technology but cannot just unleash it everywhere. Apple and Verizon Wireless are said to have been in talks over these wireless software updates since early this year. Sources could not comment on whether or not Apple is negotiating similar deals with AT&T or international iPhone carriers.
Obviously, if this is a feature in iOS 5, it should conceivably make its way to iPad and iPod touches as well. That means iTunes may no longer be a needed conduit for updating iOS devices in the future. It would also mean that the iPad could finally be a stand alone device (about time).
(I don't know about that, partial update is ok .... loading 666MB OTA is retarded, how are the 500MB data packages are gonna pulls this off?)

Serious note, that's a lot of cash.
still a long way there.
if your taking with regards to market cap they are sitting just above 300 billion with annual revenues of only 66 billion (as of last quarter)
I say only because you compare that to companies like Exxon mobile with market caps of over 400+ billion and revenues in of around 400 billion as well per year.

iPhone Dev-Team Releases Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3
The iPhone Dev-Team has released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3.
Apple released iOS 4.3.3 on Wednesday, and once again the untethered jailbreak exploit that @i0n1c created for 4.3.1 still works. That makes it an unprecedented three firmwares where the same userland exploit works. Wefre not exactly sure why Apple hasnft fixed the hole yet, but wefre not complaining!
Today's PwnageTool and redsn0w incorporate @i0n1cfs port to 4.3.3 (itfs ironic that such a long-lasting untether doesnft even have an official name!). It also of course uses geohotfs limera1n bootrom exploit to inject the jailbreak.
The 4.3.3 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.3 except for the iPad2:
iPhone3GS
iPhone4 (GSM)
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad1
AppleTV2G (v4.3 8F202)
Important:
ultrasn0w unlockers must stay away from redsn0w! Use only a custom IPSW to update to 4.3.3, to avoid updating your baseband. There are plenty of tutorials for both redsn0w and PwnageTool at sites like iClarified.com. Or feel free to ask away in our comments section below.
ultrasn0w has been updated to v1.2.3 to be compatible with iOS 4.3.3 and earlier (the ultrasn0w update does not include any new baseband support!). Please reboot your iPhone using the normal gslide to power offh swipe after installing ultrasn0w 1.2.3.
By popular demand, redsn0w now allows you to enable multitasking gestures (although most will find it useful only on iPads).
You can download the new versions of RedSn0w and PwnageTool here:
redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 (Windows, Mac)
PwnageTool 4.3.3 (Mac)
We will be updating our tutorials shortly.

(Seems like Apple's R&D for iOS is focused on iOS5. iOS 4.3.3, same exploits and baseband.)

Very intresting info about another flaw of Android I never realize ...
"Fragmentation is more of an issue but not the biggest one. The bigger issue is the differences in hardware. Different CPU's, GPU's, screen sizes, and screen resolutions make it much harder for developers. That is the reason games haven't taken off like they did with iOS.
iOS is going to be my next phone OS as well. I'm tired of have to root and flash ROM's to get things to work decently because the factory ROM's are bloated and just in general junk. I shouldn't have to flash a ROM and kernal just to get adequate performance and battery life. Maybe I'm getting old but I just want things to work out of the box the way they should."
(Don't get me wrong, I like Android and my statements are not towards the OS.
It's the whole Android culture I dislike ...
They "think"
1) they're ELITE
2) the OS is truly Open Source
3) they're the techie Gurus of all, since they "customize" everything and etc.
You can take one hardcore user from each side of Android and iOS, I bet you iOS user will indeed have more knowledge then the Android user. Most of them fight their battles with the above statements I've listed, but they don't even know they're defending and what's the truth behind everything.
The countless debates I have with many Android users all end up the same, regardless if they're the so called ELTE or intermediate users. I've school'ed them to the point they have to "google' it on their Android devices on the spot to confirm everything.)

Apple iPad 2 launches to crowds in China
The Apple iPad 2 was greeted by crowds during its debut in China on Friday morning, according to AppleInsider. Customers began lining up at about 5pm local time on Thursday, and there were hundreds of people in line by the time the store opened. Those who waited in line were allowed to leave to take one hour breaks, but anyone who spent longer was sent to the back of the queue. Scalpers also reportedly took to the streets offering the device at a relatively small markup. Chinese customers appeared to prefer the white iPad 2 over the black one, according to AppleInsider. We saw similar crowds during the U.S. debut at the New York City 5th Avenue Apple Store, where customers also started waiting in line up to 24-hours ahead of time for the device. Apple has yet to disclose its sales of the iPad 2 specifically, although it did sell 4.69 million units during the second quarter, down from the 7.33 million units it sold the quarter prior.

I decided to try the Multitasking Gestures, and they're pretty cool! Not easy to get used to due to the size of the iPhone 4 screen, but cool! Using Pinch-to-homescreen and four-fingers-to-Multitask a ton.

Violence Breaks Out Saturday at Beijing Apple Store
An ugly scene was depicted Saturday at Apple's flagship store in Beijing, and the specific cause of the violence remains shrouded in some degree of mystery. "Penn-Olson: The Asian Tech Catalog" has published a brief account of the scuffle that resulted in shattered glass and at least one beaten, bloodied Apple customer.
According to the report, the incident "left one man allegedly beaten by a 'foreign Apple employee,' three other people injured, and a few panes of glass shattered." As we know, the iPad 2 went on sale at China's four Apple stores as recently as Friday. Although it isn't yet clear if the tussle was related to the new Apple product in some fashion, the long lines and swelling, frustrated crowds may have played a role in pushing the "Apple employee" in question over the edge.
It should be noted, however, that an incomplete picture remains of what actually transpired at this particular retail location. It should come as no surprise that Apple is yet to comment on the matter. And, as of this writing, no major media outlets have picked up on this still developing story.
Quote:
The most serious and troubling allegation for Apple, in legal and PR terms is that a foreign employee actually beat one Chinese man with an iron rod, in the heat of the incident. No pictures or other evidence can prove this particular detail, at this time.
We'll keep you posted as more details and incident specifics emerge in the coming hours or days.

I'm still on IOS 4.2.1 on my 3GS. Is it really worth the hassle to constantly upgrade? Sure a few fixes have come about, but from where I stand they might not impact enough to make the effort worth while.
