Anyways, lets get back on track here. Anyone else have some dirty 2 year old cases to share?
Also, since you love to stick it to any other smartphone manufacturer whenever you get a chance:

BlackBerry beats Apple in UK smartphone market
RIM’s BlackBerry might be losing to Android and the iPhone around the world but it is still packing in new users in the UK, research company Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has reported.
In the 12 weeks to 12 June, the company increased its UK smartphone market share to an impressive 22.3 percent, making it second only to Android, which has 45.2 percent, and ahead of the iPhone’s 18.3 percent.
Significantly, 85 percent of new BlackBerry sales came from customers that had previously used conventional phone handsets, with the majority of upgraders being women. This could reflect the BlackBerry’s good reputation as a texting device, a mobile application reckoned to be a particular priority for women.
The reported success chimes with RIM’s claim last week that it had added over one million new subscribers in three weeks across Europe, the Middle East and Africa sales region, but leaves its poor showing in specific countries unexplained.
Kantar Worldpanel ComTech reported that the BlackBerry was still losing an alarming level of market share in the US, and falling in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Australia, while in Japan is grew slightly from a base close to zero. Beyond the hotspot of the UK, only Spain saw meaningful growth with its share growing to 9.9 percent.
Globally, the damage is being done mainly by Android, which is growing everywhere, and to some extent by the popular iPhone. But why might the BlackBerry be holding up so well in the UK and Spain when it is nosediving in key markets such as the US?
Apart from its popularity among women, a key could be the youth market, which sends large volumes of text messages and is attracted by the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), which is free between BlackBerry subscribers. As long as there are enough other users also using the BlackBerry, this gives the platform a competitive advantage.
“Our data shows that most first-time smartphone owners look for lower prices. BlackBerry’s competitive pricing allows younger consumers to switch to a smartphone device at a price they can afford,” said Kantar Worldpanel ComTech’s Dominic Sunnebo.
He predicted that smartphones would become cheaper as upgrading users plumped for less costly handsets over time. The BlackBerry's continued hold on the UK would depend on keeping its share at a level that brought the advantages of BBM into play.
One interesting aside is the success of Samsung’s little-discussed Bada operating system. This is almost non-existent in the UK, Spain and the US but has attracted a surprisingly large following in Germany, France and Italy, reaching single digit market shares. Again, this popularity is down to its use on low-cost smartphones.
Research In Motion is reportedly slowing production of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet following its second-quarter earnings report, during which the vendor stated that only 200,000 PlayBooks were sold into sales channels in the quarter. RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie confirmed on the company’s earning call that the PlayBook would begin to see price reductions, and the beginnings of RIM’s effort to push PlayBooks off store shelves can likely be seen in an employee-only sale at Rogers. According to a new report, however, RIM isn’t overly optimistic that its efforts with the PlayBook will pay off. Read on for more.
Industry watcher DigiTimes on Wednesday reports that RIM’s manufacturing partner Quanta has cut back its PlayBook production lines in light of decreased orders. Moreover, RIM seemingly has no intention of reviving heavier production in the immediate future, as Quanta is said to be laying off as many as 1,000 workers from its PlayBook lines. Quanta confirmed that layoffs are underway according to the report, but would not comment on whether or not the workforce reduction is tied to RIM or the PlayBook.
RIM had placed orders for between 4 million and 5 million BlackBerry PlayBook tablets back in April of this year according to DigiTimes, but the Waterloo, Ontario-based vendor has shipped fewer than 800,000 units at this point. The report also says orders have dipped substantially to just 100,000 units per month in the third quarter. Quanta will reportedly pay severances averaging $3,420 per worker dismissed from its PlayBook production lines.

Curtains come off early at flagship Hong Kong Apple Store at IFC Center, revealing beautiful inside
Last week, we posted a picture from the same vantage point of the un-opened flagship Hong Kong Apple Store at IFC Center. Today however, one of our wonderful tipsters has sent over a first look at the new Hong Kong Apple Store with the curtains taken down. As you can see, this Apple Store is looking absolutely beautiful!
In the inside, you’ll notice employees beginning their training for the grand opening this Saturday, September 24th. Notice that glass staircase running through the center?

iPhone 4S cases showing up in retail channels?
While all the focus has been on potential iPhone 5 cases, @Chronicwire posts new images of Otterbox case boxes specifically labeled for the "iPhone 4S". He goes on to claim that Otterbox has produced 3,000,000 cases for the "iPhone 4S".
While chronic does not have photos of the actual case, the rear of the box curiously appears to show the volume buttons on the right side of the device above the SIM-card slot rather than on the left as in the iPhone 4. But part leaks for the iPhone 4S have not revealed such a change, so it is unclear which is the correct depiction of the forthcoming device.
Meanwhile, BGR had claimed that AT&T stores have already refreshed iPhone 4 cases with a change in the back opening for the camera. BGR initially speculated that the cases could be for a camera sensor that may have been changed for the rumored 8-megapixel camera in the iPhone 4S. But in an update to the post, BGR notes that multiple people have indicated that the new cases are simply a revision of the existing iPhone 4 cases to address issues with LED flash performance.
Earlier this month, we received an unconfirmed tip that at least one Apple store received a batch of iPhone 4 bumper cases that didn't fit quite right. Customer returns had suggested the bumpers were a tighter fit with some slight button alignment issues. The tipster had suggested that this may have been an early batch of modified cases, but we had heard no similar reports.
Apple is planning to release a new iPhone in October, but there have been conflicting rumors about what models they are planning to introduce. A recent report suggested that Apple would only be releasing a slightly modified iPhone 4-like device (dubbed "iPhone 4S") rather than a more dramatically redesigned iPhone 5.
Update: As several posters have pointed out the boxes for Otterbox's existing iPhone 4 case similarly show the buttons on the right side of the device, suggesting that the placement in the illustration was simply a means to show both the volume buttons and SIM-card slot in a single cutaway photo of the case.

Beats me, that's what he told me.
When I saw him, he was in the kneeling position when I heard it dropped. Maybe he was bending over very low, his pocket gotta be unleveled and angled more then 90 digress for the 9900 to slip out like that.

Apple Blacks Out Vacation Dates for Both iOS 5 and iPhone 5 Launches?
Apple is reportedly blacking out two sets of vacation dates thought to coincide with the launch of iOS 5 and the iPhone 5, reports AppleInsider.
The first block of dates is said to be the 9th through the 12th which could be for the release of iOS 5 on Monday, October 10th. Earlier reports say AppleCare call centers have been told to expect an eightfold increase in customer calls on that day.
The second block of dates is reportedly October 14th and 15th which could be for the fifth-generation iPhone launch.
Apple is rumored to be holding an event on October 4th to announce the fifth generation iPhone. That would give the company 10 days to take pre-orders ahead of launch.
Steve Jobs Describes His Vision for iCloud - In 1997
Steve Jobs describes his vision for iCloud during his Q&A session with developers at WWDC 1997.
"I can't communicate to you how awesome this is until you use it. And what you would decide within a day or two is that carrying around these non-connected computers or computers with tons of state in them -- tons of data and state in them -- is Byzantine by comparison."
(Indeed iCloud must of been a pain in the ass for Apple to setup, hence the major delay with the next gen iPhone, until the public uses iOS5 ... they don't know jack and never understand the "delay")
Oh Samsung, you are making this too easy
Having a look at the otherwise impressive Galaxy S II phones from Samsung, I noticed that the USB AC power adapter had a ‘familiar’ feel to it to it. Turns out, it is almost an exact replica, within a millimeter in every direction.
