You gotta relax buddy wow, lol
I'll pick this vinyl over any Gelaskin Art made by anyone. Yes, there's 1000s of these and you can even upload your own. Having some graphic on the back of my phone is not my thing. I rather have this "cheap ass sticker", the material and texture is much better then a one layer glossy sticker. This "cheap ass sticker" would cost the same or even more if someone sold this here. I always order my stuff from Asia and score a slick deal.
If you've read my post, I was "planning" to get the real Carbon Fibre case for the next iPhone, but that's not gonna happen ... due to reports of signal lost. Don't ask, no one can figure it why ... there's tons of reviews like this.
And that's that ... this "cheap ass sticker" will be the closes thing to usable Carbon Fibre for our iPhones.

Whatever John...
You're into the kirf stuff and I'm not...
And it's too bad about the signal loss opinions...
I've never heard any of them and I hope they're wrong 'cause that case is a thing of beauty...
Anton
speaking of cases, I originally got an Incase slider type case. It was alright but the paint chipped off from the bottom piece (I guess because I put my phone in the cup holder) so I decided to get one of these:
and have been using it for a few months now. Yeah it's ugly and makes the phone bigger, but it protects the screen and all the ports very well.

Isn't Carbon fiber conductive? If so, then wouldn't this be like wrapping your phone with metal, thus interfering with the signal?

Great question dude, did some homework and the answer is yes. Apparently, it collects more electrons then aluminum and that explains why the massive signal lost with those dudes with that carbon fiber case.
The first gen iPhone housing was made out of aluminum and had many signal problems. That is why Apple had to produce the 3G and 3GS housing out of plastic, but kept the chrome bezel to help detect warrantee scams.
Fast forward to present time, the plastic housing is now costing Apple lots of money and these plastic housing are not cheap. From what I know, it cost about $150.00 of each unit. Speaking of the real OEM housing, not the A+ replicas.
What I kind of fear right now is the 4th gen iPhone coming out this month. The entire frame is back to aluminum and I hope they had more antennas or place them in areas away from that frame.

According to the rumours and all of these"leaked iPhones", the back will either be glass or ceramic. Only the sides will be aluminum...
And as for the cost of the plastic on our present phones being $150, I doubt that very much...
The concensus is that the manufacturing cost for it is between $175 and $200 so 80% ish for the housing alone? No way...

If this were the case, then they could have easily "wired" in the metal case to aid the internal antenna.

Little mixup here, to buy a true OEM housing replacement is $150. Apple of course gets them a lot cheaper, but still very expensive for the amount of exchanges they go through.
