Try killing the idling apps in the multitasking dock and compare it to stock ver, you will see over time how chunky things get.
Get ready for another iOS update with the recent complaints, bugs and the FaceTime glitch.

Someone's IP4 cracked digitizer, but somehow it wasn't glued together properly ... intresting, the glue is on the top, bottom, and sides ... not the middle. |

iOS 4.3.2 coming ....

We’ve just been told by one of our Apple ninjas that the company is working on another iOS 4.3.x release: iOS 4.3.2. It’s said to include a few enhancements,_address security issues, and it will also fix several bugs that have affected users. We’re told to expect the software update for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in about two weeks.
(Pls make it smooth like iOS 4.2.1)
Supposed iPhone 5 images reveal larger display, new antenna design

Three images of what is claimed to be Apple’s iPhone 5 have surfaced, supposedly sourced from a Vietnamese forum. While the authenticity of the images is anything but confirmed, they do appear to show a device that is in line with several rumors surrounding Apple’s next-generation iPhone. Most notably, we can see that the display on the device pictured is larger than the display on the iPhone 4, as highlighted by several arrows placed on the images. While the exact dimensions of the screen on the pictured device are unknown, we can clearly see that the spacing between the display and the outer edges of the phone are narrower than the spacing found on the iPhone 4. We can also see that the display has been stretched vertically, narrowing the space between the screen and the ear speaker as well as the space above and below the home button. Finally, the images show a redesigned external antenna that no longer has seams on the bottom right corner or on the top of the device next to the audio jack. This could mean that Apple found a way to reduce attenuation by moving one or two antennas back inside the case, thus eliminating the contact point that caused the highly publicized ”death grip” issues on the iPhone 4. Hit the break for all three images

(Some claim this was a April Fool's joke, but it looks damn legit) |

Rogers HUP Change

Changes are coming soon at Rogers regarding their Hardware Upgrade Policy (HUP). Customers currently have to wait 24 months to upgrade their device but Rogers plans to release an early hardware upgrade program that is slightly similar to how TELUS operates. We’ve been informed that Rogers will be implementing an “Early Upgrade Fee” and for those who choose to upgrade will pay a nominal amount (possibly around $10 – $15 ) multiplied by the number of months remaining on their contract. No official launch date was given and we’re getting more info about new HUP structure, but the above internal doc shows proof it’s coming soon. |

was in vegas last week and pretty much left my iphone in airplane mode the whole time to be safe.
However, I had to use it for 7 mins and it cost me!
Opening 3 web pages while in the US (Google -> WWW main page --> contact page) = $4.38 (.73MB at $6/MB)
4min phone call = $5.80 ($1.45/min)....
Now I see why I had to leave my phone in Airplane mode.
what is everyone doing to save on costs while in the US? (beside Wi-fi...which i used as much as i could) |

- Unlock it -
iPad Activated Data Sim (data only)
AT&T prepaid
You could get a CDN & US data plan from Rogers. |

You can also buy US voice/text/data plans, I did that when I was in South America and it was great! There aren't that cheap, but much better than getting charged the roaming rates. |

If you want to unlock yourself, you must be on iOS 4.0.1 w/ Baseband 01.59.00. It's the first iOS ver that came with the IP4 back in July for Canada.
You can buy the Gevey Turbo Sim for $70 on the web that's another opition. Just saw one sold on eBay for $25 just now. (I'll buy one of these if iOS 4.3.2 baseband doesn't get updated)
From what I know, Bell can unlock all their phones for $75 ... But totally refuse or have no access to unlock the iPhones.
It's too bad the iPhones are locked up if you subsidize them and it's totally impossible for 3rd party vendors to gain access to Apple's server to unlock them in Canada or elsewhere. In the UK, some areas in Europe and land down under ... 3rd party vendors can unlock them for $150
The Google Nexus S that's coming next week and some even got their's today ... Full retail or subsidized, the phone comes factory unlock. |
