Smartphone noob here
Looking to get either an iphone or blackberry in the semi-near future.
I was just wondering approximately how much an average monthly bill is for a decent voice + data plan after all those hidden charge type things? so to those who have an iphone or a BB, how much are your monthly bills for the service?
Probably wont get one if its more than $75 a month... |

Rogers EPP Plan: $20 (200 mins, evenings and weekends from 9)
Rogers Data Value Pack: $35 (500mb data, 10,000 sms/mms? (maybe 2,000 they change it all the time cant keep up), call id, vm, call waiting, etc...)
plus tax + access fee = about $75 a month |

is that what your on? we're on basically the same plan if so, except I have the bb data, which is just an added soc code, and the retentions 1000LD mins for $5 more.....ohh and i pay $2 more a month for evenings from 5pm instead of 6...
the 17.50 epp plan with the $30 data value packs was a great offer, especially or people able to get additional monthly recurring discounts on top! |

its rogers....but the $17.50 epp was changed to $20 so its no longer available...
the $30 data value pack has been changed to $35 as well.
Also note the $10 recurring discount on the data value pack, its kinda tricky to get and depends on the rep/department, was much easier to get before, haven't personally heard of anyone getting recurring data value discounts recently.
Are you on Rogers now? If you've been with them for a while maybe threaten to cancel and see what kind of retention plan they will give you. If your going to be switching to Rogers, your pretty much ed and have to take the standard plans available, your best bet being 20+35+SAF+tax, and after 3 months you can call customer relations and see if they'll give you a break somewhere |

I just have some ty phone with Telus now but am looking to change to another carrier and want to get a smartphone as they seem to be the way of the future and look pretty cool too! So yeah I would have to take the standard plan. |

Went into Fairview Appstore today ...
John: Would this car charger overheat my iPone 3G and make it discharge while running TomTom or any other Navigation software?
Apple Rep: What's TomTom?
John: Navigation software coming out soon
Apple Rep: I don;t know
John: A lot of 3rd Party car chargers will do this overheating / discharge.
