One of our very close AT&T sources just sent us in these images. Yes, it’s a fried iPhone 4. Apparently a customer brought the phone into the store to try and get help with it, although it’s pretty evident that the phone is unrepairable. It’s the first time our guy has seen this happen (us too), but the brand new iPhone 4 caught on fire while being hooked up to a computer using the Apple USB cable that accompanied the device. The customer wanted to exchange the iPhone — obviously — for a new, non-charred unit however the AT&T store in question was out of stock. An Apple Store did confirm to our AT&T connection that this did appear to be a defective USB port and not some sort of user error. Our source went onto say that the phone bezel was extremely hot (obviously), and it slightly burned the customers hand. The USB port in the phone was slightly melted and the cord was badly melted (as is apparent in the pictures). Hopefully this is the only time we see our beloved iPhones meet a fiery death. We’ve got one more picture for you after the break.

I just hope the dev team releases Spirit with good timing with the IP4. Knowing Apple they will chang the bootrom again and it's gonna be chaos again. Let's hope we don't have the GeHomo saga repeating. Most of you guys are suffering large over his little pretentious ego ...

For those of you that use iOS4 and Exchange ActiveSync please do the following so that your Exchange Administrators can stop calling Microsoft Exchange Support (cause I’m tired of hearing them complain lol).
Issue:
iOS 4: Exchange Mail, Contacts, or Calendars may not sync after update
Symptoms:
Immediately after updating to iOS 4, some users may notice that Exchange ActiveSync Mail, Contacts, or Calendars do not sync, or sync very slowly. In addition, some Exchange Server administrators may notice their servers running slowly.
This last part;
"some Exchange Server administrators may notice their servers running slowly." is an understatement, in large cooperate environments when iOS4 launched it brought several fortune 500 companies exchange servers to their knee's and all we (Microsoft) could do was block the iOS4 phones from connecting until apple made a fix. I’m glad it’s out there now :)

Ya I would stay away from sn0wbreeze, although he did post new tools which fixed previous "bugs" (the bug was that the phone would reboot every time you put it to sleep). And now you don't have to use libusb either. But still the process seems like a pain in the ass and it's still a tethered JB, I hope Apple releases 4.0.1 soon.

I'm about to attempt reverting back to 3.1.2 from 4.0 on my 3G...
I just can't take all of this slowing down...

Never wish for an update by Apple unless it's a major flaw within the OS such as ...
IP4s Atenna issue
MS Exchange issue
Proximity issue
Battery issue
Safari issue
and etc
Otherwise it will be within their benefits, Apple hired a new Baseband dude and the IP4s unlock is being written from scratch right now.
