its better in every possible way when compared to the 3GS
The two cameras and flash... ok. That's an implementing an obvious oversight by Apple, especially the flash since many regular cellphones have had that for a couple of years. Recording in HD? OK, but not much more than that. If it faster, I'll bet it not by leaps and bounds. My 3GS has never slowed down for anything so far... 3D games or otherwise. Is it worth tossing a $700 phone to buy another just to get those FEW advancements... probably not. At least for me.

I was just stating how much data the IP4 burns w/ iOS4. It is a little retarded comparing two diff generations of iPhones here and it is useless to have a VS. battle between them. We all know what the specs both have and it is up to user if they feel the upgrade is worthwhile.
IMHO here, upgrading the 3G to 3GS wasn't really worth forking out $449 w/ a 3-year contract. I do admit I was kinda itchin to upgrade to 3G to 3GS, due to the camera's upgrade and functions. I use to never care about pics, but once I snapped my first pic from the 3G and was able to upload them to FaceBook, it was over for me. Flickr's traffic boosted 800% b/c of the same reason. People did not care about how the camera was a little was a little outdated. It was the convenience of point & shoot, preview on a massive screen and then upload it to the web. Now 3GS to IP4 is indeed a very big leap forward to me, it is worth forking out $449 w/ a 3-year contract for the entire hardware being revamped. Honestly, I've never used such a impressive hardware before and I did use a 3GS for about a week while my buddy was out of the country. It is also valid for ppl to wait until the chaos to blow over or even skip it the IP4 and get the next year's ver that could be the IP4S.
Keep in mind, starting from the 3G (which was launched worldwide) and releasing a new model next year, there would not be that much of a difference. It takes years to R&D a whole new design, beefing up the hardware and massively improve the OS *to fit current major hardware upgrade*
Best suggestion I have to anyone who wants to follow the major improvements for the iPhones, upgrade once every two years that is officially released in Canada. If you got an iPhone in the mid point, I would upgrade the following year just to catch up to hardware pattern.
Now in the US, it is valid to upgrade every year. Since they have so many subscribers, their contract length and HUP is fair to the carriers and customers.
If I lived in the US, I would most likely start my iPhone journey with the 3G. The 1st Gen iPhone wasn't so great w/ hardware specs, major software limitations and zero 3rd party support for software & apps.

Nope still waiting.

I hope Dev Team is gonna wait awhile before releasing it, since it's repeat of last year's fragile time of bootrom changes.
They would want more ppl to have IP4, before Apple changes the bootrom.

Fair enough...I was coming from a slow as 3G so there was a huge difference for me. Plus I had $120 fido dollars that went towards the phone.
You're probably better off not getting one in the end, esp if you have to pay full price.

I was just going to make a similar post about the upgrading. When the 3GS came out I saw tons of friends with 3G's go out and get the 3GS. For me, the features didnt make me want to use any fido dollars or resign a new contract.
So it was twice as fast with a better camera...wow. I also had a idea that Apple would have to pull out all the stops in 2010 because of the pressure from Android and other smart phone makers. Turns out I was right.
Ill skip out on next years model what ever that is and most likely get the IP5.

So apparently dealing with people on craiglsist is a massive pain in the ass.
Been trying to sell my 3gs for a week, and I've had 50 super lowballers, two people back out last minute before meeting, and tonight some one lowballed me at the meeting and then I told them to go them selves and pay me five bux for wasting my time.
If anyone here or anyone some one here knows, wants a MINT 32 gig 3gs in white, with warranty on it till December, unlocked and comes with the box and cable, let me know.
You will be hard pressed to find a scratch on this device. I baby my .
400 or best offer
I also have a 2nd gen ipod touch 8 gig for best offer.

I was thinking that but Im one of many trying to sell one at the same price.
Id like to think mine is in better condition than most. It never left the case and screen protector since I got it. Every week I would meticulously clean the device, getting all the dust out of the headphone jack, and silent button and where the usb cable goes. It really is in great condition.
I would accept a reasonable offer, but I was getting low balled 75 - 100 bucks. I think thats a little too low.
