California firm sizing up iPhone 4 class action suit
Recently, California law firm Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, LLP placed an ad on their website looking for users who “recently purchased the new iPhone and have experienced poor reception quality, dropped calls and weak signals.” The firm, who as Gawker points out, “sued Facebook and Zynga over scammy gaming ads” looks to be sizing up the Cupertino company for a class action suit. We’re sure there will be more on this one as it develops.

Stumbled onto this article about iOS4 and privacy, any thoughts?
Its not as if this isnt possible, but there is no proof backing this up.
I wouldn't trust these guys, they're not part of the dev team and just made that site to cash in on someone else's work.
Plus all their JB's are from the Dev Team and have virus's placed within' the system files to attack your PC. Stay away from these guys pls

Who cares LOL, only thing it backups is your settings and notes. You'll be super glad to do a fresh install later down the road.
Speaking of notes ....
I went through hell and back with this ....
i've saved my previous notes and found out iOS4 uses notes.qslite now .... what i did was sms my notes, one by one to another iPhone to keep the formating. Then copy and pasted the SMS and sent them back to my phone. Pain in the ***
Now i'm using Yahoo to sync my notes, no more hassle if they change the extention again.
1. Keep all of the positioning statements in the BN handy – your tone when delivering this information is important.
a. The iPhone 4’s wireless performance is the best we have ever shipped. Our testing shows that iPhone 4’s overall antenna performance is better than iPhone 3GS.
b. Gripping almost any mobile phone in certain places will reduce its reception. This is true of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and many other phones we have tested. It is a fact of life in the wireless world.
c. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 3GS, avoid covering the bottom-right side with your hand.
d. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 4, avoid covering the black strip in the lower-left corner of the metal band.
e. The use of a case or Bumper that is made out of rubber or plastic may improve wireless performance by keeping your hand from directly covering these areas.
2. Do not perform warranty service. Use the positioning above for any customer questions or concerns.
3. Don’t forget YOU STILL NEED to probe and troubleshoot. If a customer calls about their reception while the phone is sitting on a table (not being held) it is not the metal band.
4. ONLY escalate if the issue exists when the phone is not held AND you cannot resolve it.
5. We ARE NOT appeasing customers with free bumpers – DON’T promise a free bumper to customers.

Apple hiring iPhone antenna engineers for some reason
Three Apple job postings for iPhone / iPad antenna engineers to "Define and implement antenna system architecture to optimize the radiation performance for wireless portable devices." All three were posted on June 23rd, the same day that we started seeing widespread reporting of the left-handed reception issues. Coincidence?

"Apple Of My Eye" video shot and editied on the iPhone 4 and with iMovie (it shows later in the movie how it was done with different mounts, etc.)
Exclusive: Conversation with Steve Jobs on the iPhone 4 antenna problems
One of our readers has a pretty interesting story to share. It is one that involves his passion for Apple products, an Apple engineer, Steve Jobs, and reported problems with the iPhone 4’s antenna placement. Let’s call the person talking to Apple and Steve Jobs “Tom”… Tom recorded a video which he posted on YouTube. That video demonstrated the iPhone 4’s now well known issue of signal degration when being held mostly on the left lower side of the phone. Apparently, Apple noticed the video, and reached out directly to Tom. While talking with Apple, Tom was informed that Apple doesn’t consider this an issue, and that anything online is just “rumor hysteria”. Apple also asked Tom not to post further videos.
Tom followed up by emailing the Apple engineer and Steve Jobs directly. Below is the email thread broken down. We have verified the email headers and information, and believe this exchange to be 100% legitimate.
First email:
[Apple engineer name redacted],
When we spoke, you would not tell me that there is a fix for this phone?
I assume there is no fix then. If this is legit, I have lost all respect for apple and just want to go back to Verizon and get a nice Android phone. And don’t tell me they have the same issues, all our co-workers with Androids are just mocking us right now…. “Hey, I am going to go in the basement and continue my call. You can use my office on the 2nd floor so you can get a signal”. You are going to kill your brand over one product. Apple is coming off arrogant and rude. If there is no fix just tell people so they can return their phones. We have work to do. I have bought just about every apple product made in the last 20 years and this is the 1st time I am ashamed to be a MAC fan.
This is just sickening,
[Tom]
Here is Steve Jobs’ reply:
No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down.
Our reader’s response:
I am really insulted… “Calm down”…. “rumors”… What arrogance. This is will be marked as the begging of the end of Apple. Seriously, DO THE RIGHT THING. I just had dinner with 3 people who had iPhone 4s we all cant make calls without dropping. There is no rumors it is reality.
Steve Jobs counters:
You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength.
Our reader again:
Stop with jackass comments. I have has every iphone made. They all had a bad signal but this is the so much worse X3. The whole country is is in a “low signal strength” in reality… all but apple campus and your house it seems? AT&T maps are a joke. I am in “excellent” to “good” coverage and on my iPhone 1, Iphone 3G, and my iPhone 3Gs, I could at least make a telephone call. After all, it is a phone. Iphone 4…. 5 bars….. touch the phone… ZERO bars call drops.
Steve. IT DOES NOT WORK! Geezzz I hope this this is not really you. Are we on a different MHz? I have yet to see an iPhone [4] work in Richmond when you hold it in your hand. It is not “isolated”. I was a big fan. But I am done.
Steve responds once again:
You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it.
Sent from my iPhone
And lastly, Steve emails in again even though our reader didn’t respond to that last message:
Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it.
What are your thoughts on this one? Is Tom in the right? Did he get a little too aggressive with his emails? Do you believe Steve Jobs when he says Apple is actively working on it?
(The IP4 atenna issus is not an issue for colder regions like Canada, the thing is made out of glass. -10 Weather + glass or glossy plastic + cold fingers = brick of ICE, get damn case on it. When temp is warm outside, like +15 then being caseless is much better. I understand everyone's bitch from the US and especially since it's summer ... I've already solved this issue, even when the unit is casless. I'll snap some pics when I get mine)

UPDATED: Apple and AT&T hit with first iPhone 4 class action lawsuit
Giz got their hands We got our hands on an official court document that details the first (of we’re sure many) class action lawsuits that Apple and AT&T will be dealing with in regards to the iPhone 4. Some of the claims made in the Maryland based suit include:
-General Negligence (APPLE and AT&T)
-Defect in Design, Manufacture, and Assembly (APPLE)
-Breach of Express Warranty (APPLE)
-Breach of Implied Warranty for Merchantability (APPLE and AT&T)
-Breach of Implied Warranty of Fitness for a Particular Purpose (APPLE and AT&T)
-Deceptive Trade Practices (APPLE and AT&T)
-Intentional Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T)
-Negligent Misrepresentation (APPLE and AT&T), Fraud by Concealment (APPLE and AT&T)
Incase you’ve been living under a rock for the last week, Apple’s iPhone 4 has been accused of: antenna issues, screen issues, Exchange issues, proximity sensor issues, and several others. We’re sure Apple (and possibly AT&T) can expect to see another complaint filed in California soon.
UPDATE: So, apparently this kid needs to check his email after drinking coffee in the morning. The lawyer representing the two plaintiffs was nice enough to send us a full copy of the lawsuit — as your friends at BGR were cited several times in the document.
