Hey thanks for the links!
I was thinking of taking the same path as you. Is there really a BIG difference between the 2G and the 3G? |

Not if all you're looking for is a phone with wifi and don't want a plan.
Maybe I'll get a plan in the future... I want to wait until the new cell carriers launch in Canada with competition and perhaps better rates.
Mine is a 4gb 2G, so I can load it with adequate MP3s for my tastes, but not good if you'll load it with movies. It does everything I want it to do, so I'm happy. I really wanted the wifi, so I can be online anywhere around my house and around the world and still keep in touch for free (except in Cuba last month, where they have f-all, but that's unsderstandable). $150 for the 2G unlocked and jailbroken and no contract was perfect for me. The techies here could prolly elaborate better any advantages to going 3G other than more gb. |

Here’s my little story of: My call to Roger’s Customer Relations Dept.
Ppl on HoFo has posted up their HUP to the iPhone 3Gs, previously they got quoted the same as me for $449 and now it’s $199 w/ their bill not surpassing $60. I gave this info to the first rep and of course I didn’t want the iPhone 3Gs, but wanted to see what they can do for me. He told me my revenue was way too low to get a HUP @ discount pricing. He was in total shock that my plan had everything and pays about 60% less then what the normal person pays to use the iPhones. “This is unreal; I don’t know how you got this on your account and it even has a data plan with all the added features. My honest opinion Sir, keep this plan forever” I’ve requested to speak to customer relations at this point to sort this HUP pricing out.
The moment I got transferred to this dept, I kept my ultra nice and pleasant attitude to see what I can get. The female rep I was speaking to was so nice to me and in return everything was trouble free and I did not raise my voice at all. Honestly, its team work with the CSRs, if you want to achieve things with Rogers. Gave her the same story as the reg. CSR and of course nothing can be done at all. Then I requested my $10.00 discount on my iPhone Data Value Pack (ver 1) to be extended and without checking with the manager, she approves it and also gave me a confirmation number for this extension that was done today.
Even though Rogers is turning ultra evil and prices are sky rocketing as we speak, treat the CSRs with respect and in return, the customer service level will be outstanding and fulfilled to the fullest. Be aware your area code will be reflected on the CSR attitude towards you. For example, if you live in a ghetto area … you will be treated like and etc. |

Note: It’s not showing up for every user in every store on every device yet, so be patient, try searching, try iTunes on your PC or Mac, try it on the iPhone, or just wait a bit and it’ll be all good… |

What do you mean load? Try deleting it and re-installing it for the phone, if that doesn't work ... from the computer
EDIT: I use to have this prob w/ FB updating ... had to use the computer since they wanted me to accpet a new agreement of term and blah blah blah |
