I’ve been running iOS4 with multitasking enabled on my 3G and although it can get a little sluggish if you have 4+ apps open, I haven’t noticed a great deal of difference. It’s totally your buddy’s unit IMO. |

AT&T sold out of iPhone 4 pre-orders for launch day, as of 1:30pm.
Both Apple and At&t sites got hammered so hard, barely anyone got through. |

Guess you didn't watch the keynote.
Their wifi network got hammered with 570 laptops + ipads + iphones + whatever connected to that one hotspot. Everyone was bloggin', streaming A&V and emailing @ the same time. Steve Job wouldn't continue until everyone turned off their and put it aside. |
