I have a problem with a friends 3G. Now, usually i can fix almost any software issue but this one is giving me quite the challenge.
Whats going on is its stuck in recovery mode, and when Im able to get it out it stays on the apple logo with the spinning wheel. The weird thing is that itunes recognizes it as if its ok. I get error 13 when trying to restore. A google search really didn't tell me anything new.
I have tried standard, recovery, and DFU modes to restore with no luck. I also used iRecovery to try and kick it out of the recovery loop with no success.
My only other thought its that it must be a hardware issue.
Maybe someone here can shed some light on wtf is going on
Only thing I can suggest is recboot, to kick it out of DFU mode after any type of error codes

I was talking about hardware vs hardware, pricing shouldn't matter if the hardware is impressive to the individuals. :)
To me, Id honestly say its twice as responsive as the 3gs. Web browsing about 25 percent faster. Haven't had a dropped call on it once. Battery lasts about 30 percent longer. I also love all the little things added within the new OS that all add up to make me believe that the hardware is definately worth the upgrade from a 3gs
Then again, Im all about better, faster, and up to date techy stuff so.......to each their own for reasons to upgrade.

Tested the iPod Touch 4th gen, it's gonna pretty for the kids ... Not as fast or nice as the IP4
While the iPhone 4 and iPod touch share the same A4 processor, the iPhone 4 has 512 MB of RAM (allowing it to run more apps in background), the iPod touch has just 256 MB of RAM.
While the iPod touch gets the Retina Display update, the screen quality is a poorer than that of the iPhone 4. The display is not IPS.
The iPod touch’s rear camera sensor is much poorer than the 5MP camera on the iPhone 4, and is missing the LED flash.

So I tried recboot with no luck. I'm starting to think its some sort of hardware issue even tho the signs point to software. This has never happened to me before.
Ill give it another shot tonight and see what happens.

If that's the case, change the host file back to normal.
The 3G's iOS 4.1 can be redsnow'ed as of yesterday.

Buying Apple TV, Netflix is confirmed $7.99 a month in Canada.
Video-streaming website Netflix Inc. is offering a one-month free trial as it launches in Canada today followed by a monthly fee of $7.99.
The company said thousands of titles will be available, while admitting it doesn't have the most up-to-date selection of new releases.
The service will stream on PCs, Macs, iPhones and iPads, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 and some Blu-ray players.
Netflix has more than 15 million subscribers in the U.S., where the company also sends out DVDs by mail to users. The DVD model will not be available in Canada.
Netflix has proven to be a popular alternative to renting and has been a major factor in the demise of Blockbuster, which is inching toward bankruptcy.
But Netflix's success in Canada is not assured, as it will face a number of competitors.
Zip.ca already offers DVD rentals by mail, like Netflix's U.S. service, and has hinted that it will eventually offer online streaming. Its subscription rates range from $5.95 to $49.95 a month.

My buddy in teh states subscribes to netflix... wicked ass service!
He loads up the netflix service on his Xbox360 and there you search and chose the movie you wanna watch.
It'll either be a) delivered right to your xbox 360 to view, or if its not available as such, they mail you out the DVD to watch, no extra charge. It arrives bloody FAST TOO! Always by the next day for every movie we rented that way... incl some older 80s films too!
And to return then you just go to any wal-mart or even more malls or strip malls and drop it in a netflix return box - they are everywhere down in teh US (north carolina anyways)... its so convenient.

No DVD service for Canada.
The Apple TV is for my parents; I'll be using it for the computer, IP4 and if I get the net Gen IPad.
